I had a fun day in a Lotus Evora at Castle Combe Circuit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGEsYTHz6Ak We started with an 8.40 briefing then it was time to hit the track at 9am. After scoffing down a hearty breakfast and a strong coffee we then went for a trial run of the track with one of Castle Combe's safety guys, who was a racing driver in his younger years! The car used was an Abarth Punto with 4 of us inside, we did 2 laps at a steady pace but then this saftey guy (who was in his 60's) floored it. We were amazed how this guy could keep up with Lotus Exige and a Jaguar XK-R and how good the car handled. This guy really knew how to throw a car around and he looked so re…

Always thought this sumed up things very well when it first appeared.... Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). …

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee si…

What a start to a New Year we don't learn anything do we, Wars going on everywhere, funny (not) how we can police the Red Sea but not the English Channel, can afford to give billions away when there's plenty to sort out at home. “Genuine tragedies in the world are not conflicts between right and wrong. They are conflicts between two rights” ― Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel The Post Office scandal, Tata steel scandal, Politicians who couldn't lay straight in bed can talk and talk but can't do.... and on it goes, “What experience and history teaches us is that people and governments have n…

Hi, I own a 2005 hinda frv. It has developed a persistent shake. So much so you can't see from the rear view. I've had the wheels checked for ballanced but the shake remains. From what I've read, inner cv joint could be the issue. I'm looking to replace both front drive shafts but I'm having a rough time try to track some down. I'm hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. Also I've had fault code run to check for possible miss fire which was all clear apart from my persistent kick sensor fault code .

Sun, Sea and I'm too old to remember what the other was, Brazzer RN 1 will know!! You all enjoy yourself I'll like after the shop!! My old dad use to use his hanky as a sun hat - tie a knot at each corner and off you go..... I can remember as a kid having a knitted looking/feeling swimming trunks, ok till they go wet, and when you came out of the water the crotch was full of wet sand and round your knees.... My mother used to put Baby Oil (steady it's my mother) on as sun tanning oil - it was all the rage! Then when we were all red as beetroot we were covered in Calamine lotion that turned into a white powder.... Happy Days

Hi Guys & Gals I am thinking about pre booking a Holiday to Portugal Next Year , Has anyone a favourite place, I always go to Majorca but next year I am thinking of a change of scenery, I have a young Family so will be looking for a Hotel near the Beach with Hotel Activities i.e. Large Pool, Water Slides and activities for the Kids, I would like to book an all Inclusive Holiday for about a 10-14 days as Kids are always snacking and drinking on Holiday and can if not careful cost a fortune on food and drinks, so Inclusive seems to be the way to go. We live near to Bournemouth so again Flights to Portugal from Bournemouth Airport would be a bonus as less travelling…

I've been a member of the forum for a year this month and I've learnt alot about the Great Honda car and tips on getting the best from them. I'm not very knowledgeable about the workings of the heart of a motor but I know someoene here will always offer sound advice, so thanks everyone especially Trevor and RN. I've been missing a fair bit recently new laptop with Windows 11 my old one was Windows 7!! Its not been easy, I'm sure with these things they get to a point where it's at it's best but some bright spark has to try and change things just because they need to sell new items. Bring back XP !!!! Alan

Time to reminisce… Toys and Games Many of the classic toys and games that children are still playing with today were first created in the 1960s, and we found plenty of ways to fill our time without all the gadgets that are around now. Etch a Sketch The Etch a Sketch was one of the most wanted toys for Christmas 1960 and many of us spent hours trying to create masterpieces with those two fiddly dials. Lego Lego in the 60s required a lot more imagination than it does today. We didn't get detailed instructions and film characters. We just got coloured blocks that could be anything we wanted them to be. Mecca…

Phones you can carry around with you, that take pictures and can make video calls. When we had our first telephone connected in our home I was about six years old. It was SO exciting! Our number was 9 as we were the ninth telephone in the village. It was heavy, black and was connected to the wall in one corner of our lounge. Not everyone had a camera and now we walk around with phones in our pockets which can take pictures too – as well as a multitude of other amazing things! I remember fantasising with my brother and sister about phones of the future. ‘What if you could see the person you were talking to as well! Just imagine!” Now children are growing up with Skype…
