Thames estuary man Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I’m now looking at buying a 1.6 diesel crv. I was surprised that some ads stated £30 road tax, but when I checked another it was £125 tax. Is it the case that the 4WD CRVs have higher emissions and therefore higher road tax than the 2WD ones ? Is there much difference in the way they drive on the road ?
Trevor Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 I'm not sure it relates so much to 2wd / 4wd as it is calculated by CO2 emissions which in turn could be higher due to the transmission but not so much with the CR-V as is it passive system and only functions when needed (Crossover) so not much to affect the fuel consumption / CO2 levels. If the transmission is automatic compared to manual then this may also have an effect on the levels
KennyM Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Although both have the same 1.6 capacity, I think the 2wd is a 120hp (on an SR model - 115 CO2) and the 4wd is a 160hp so emmisions will be different. Also, the version with the 9 speed auto box (139 CO2) has higher emissions than the manual (133 CO2) 1
