I’m now looking at buying a 1.6 diesel crv. I was surprised that some ads stated £30 road tax, but when I checked another it was £125 tax.

Is it the case that the 4WD CRVs have higher emissions and therefore higher road tax than the 2WD ones ?

Is there much difference in the way they drive on the road ?

I'm not sure it relates so much to 2wd / 4wd as it is calculated by CO2 emissions which in turn could be higher due to the transmission but not so much with the CR-V as is it passive system and only functions when needed (Crossover) so not much to affect the fuel consumption / CO2 levels.
If the transmission is automatic compared to manual then this may also have an effect on the levels

Although both have the same 1.6 capacity, I think the 2wd is a 120hp (on an SR model - 115 CO2) and the 4wd is a 160hp so emmisions will be different. Also, the version with the 9 speed auto box (139 CO2) has higher emissions than the manual (133 CO2)
