AndrewMVP Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Hello guys, I would like to but a Honda Civic 2017 (17 reg) 1.8 i-VTEC SR Auto with CVT. I would be grateful if you could let me know how reliable is the car especially the CVT gearbox. My main concern is that the previous owner did not change the transmission fluid as indicated by Honda. Kind regards, Andrei
Trevor Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Hi Andrei....welcome to the Club I would take it in for a fluid change and see what the fluid is liked when it is drained. If it is a dark red then you may have issues with worn components (plates) otherwise if it is a light red colour and doesn't smell burnt then it should be okay. It would be advisable to have the filter changed at the same time Let us know how you get on with it
