JRB Posted January 29, 2023 Share Posted January 29, 2023 I'm new to the forum and couldn't find a thread dealing with this. We have just bought a 2012 CRV 2.0 EX (3rd gen). and wondered if the steering wheel controls (media, cruise etc) are supposed to be illuminated at night. I have seen some photos on another forum suggesting they should be, but ours aren't. if they should be, I can start trying to fix. Otherwise I guess we'll learn the buttons eventually! Perhaps turning it up would help. I will try mine later (at the moment it's a bright sunny morning here and our driveway gets sun all day). Rusty Civic Posted March 26, 2023 Share Posted March 26, 2023 I'm not sure if pre face-lift has the same brightness adjuster (in the bottom of the speedometer). I have just tried adjusting the panel brightness and even on the dimmest setting the steering wheel buttons are still lit. Perhaps your dealer is your only option. Thanks for the info on the illuminated Steering Wheel buttons, Mine was registered on 30/09/ 2008 so do you think it might have the steering wheel button illumination , It would be good if it has but I cant find where to switch it on . Rusty Civic Posted March 28, 2023 Share Posted March 28, 2023 Sorry, I'm not sure if a 2008 model has that feature. Ours is a 2011, so a post facelift. Perhaps it wasn't an option on earlier mark 3's and was added to later models after customer feedback.
