Hi I bought my HRV nearly 2 years ago from a private seller, it has been great until recently

Each time I depress the clutch is sounds and feels like an old squeaky floor board, most annoying.

I have spoken with my local dealer and they want £150 inspection fee to even look at it.  My brother has a civic and has the same problem

Does anyone else have this irritating fault

Louise

It sounds like the clutch driven plate and the friction lining they use is making the noise

Sometimes it can occur when the clutch is slipped and the material is dragged across the pressure plate and causes this noise.
It should be okay for normal use for some time but avoid slipping the clutch if you can

I would say this is most likely the pedal box or the slave cylinder more than the clutch, unless it’s very worn. They’re a tad awkward to get to but you can spray some silicone lubricant into it which should help. Normally it’s the rubber seals which get dry and just start squeaking. Hope this helps 👍🏻

Hi, I also have this annoying squeak. Could you please advise how to access the clutch cylinder to spray the lubricant on?

I had the same problem and sprayed 3 in 1 oil under the trim where the pedal is so far  it's seems to be doing the job.

I was told once that I keep my engine too clean/dry so occasionally now spray with the same oil used to use WD40 but now understand that the lubricant only last 15 mins.
