Mark59 Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Hi all. We have a Honda crv 2007 2.2 diesel car and also a caravan. When we are towing the caravan the rear suspension feels soft even though I am within towing weights. Is there a way I can stiffen the suspension without it costing a fortune. Thanks in advance.
Trevor Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 You used to be able to get inserts for the coil springs (like a rubber buffer) but not sure if that sort of thing is available nowadays Otherwise Airbag suspension maybe another option Alternatively, you may be able to get stiffer springs for the rear
Mark59 Posted August 14, 2023 Author Posted August 14, 2023 Thank you for that. I will have a look and see what would work. 1
Mark59 Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 I have ordered some inserts so will let you know how it goes when I have fitted them. Thanks again for the advice. 1
Mark59 Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 The inserts were easy to fit with a bit of silicon spray we just need a holiday to see how it is with the van attached. 1
Mark59 Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 Having towed the van now the inserts work well. There is still a bit of movement up and down but it is far better than it was. Thank you again for the advice.
