Hi all. We have a Honda crv 2007 2.2 diesel car and also a caravan. When we are towing the caravan the rear suspension feels soft even though I am within towing weights. Is there a way I can stiffen the suspension without it costing a fortune. Thanks in advance.

 

You used to be able to get inserts for the coil springs (like a rubber buffer) but not sure if that sort of thing is available nowadays
Otherwise Airbag suspension maybe another option

Alternatively, you may be able to get stiffer springs for the rear

I have ordered some inserts so will let you know how it goes when I have fitted them. Thanks again for the advice.

 

The inserts were easy to fit with a bit of silicon spray we just need a holiday to see how it is with the van attached.

 

Having towed the van now the inserts work well. There is still a bit of movement up and down but it is far better than it was. Thank you again for the advice.
