Mass Air Flow Sensor

Hi

Looking for some help.  My MAF sensor needs replaced (tried cleaning it and still have the same problem), I purchased a replacement MAF sensor which said without housing - photo's looked exactly the same as the one currently in my car and had the same OEM number.  I tried the part and my car was worse so what does the housing mean?  I wanted to ask this question before I order another part and have the same issues.

It sounds like you are referring to the cartridge element that attaches within the air intake housing?
If it is the same dimensionally then they all mostly work at 5 volts and should do the job
