Clutch Replacement

Recommended Posts

Seems my 2005 CRV desel 2.2 CRV is after 136.000 mikes in need of a new clutch been given a priice of £1100 fitted does this seem a fair price? Its booked in for next week at the local garage I use.

Seems fair enough considering the level of work required to replace the clutch

I would, however, be expecting to have the Dual Mass Flywheel replaced within that cost as well

Thanks Trevor, the dual mass flywheel is in the price. First time I've ever had a clutch need replacing on any car I've had.

This little CRV has a tow bar on the back don't know hpw much work she did but is it true towing does wear a clutch out quicker??

Ah that's an even better price then!

Clutches can wear faster when towing heavy weights (twin axle car trailer for example) but it is also the stop-start motion on the transmission which is being pushed to the limit unless the trailer is braked and then this can reduce the 'whiplash' on the transmission components
