Hi All

FRV 1.8 2008 Petrol.

My parking sensor just gives a contant tone/continous long beep when the reverse gear is engaged.

All 4 sensors click when touched. Ive cleaned the seneors even though they werent dirty inc  using wd40.

Ive disconnected the battery for a bout 5-6 mins but still no joy.

Any one have any suggestions what could be the cause? Or what i can do do fix it?

Im not going to be able to take the rear bumper off or anything.  Not sure where the control module is or how to access it?

Thanks for any advice

Mine is similar, although it is temperamental. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a 2006 FR-V, and I believe mine was actually installed aftermarket, it's not in the original spec.

The control unit is within the cavity where you get access to change the rear light bulbs if I recall correctly. It's been stuck onto the inner face of the wall of the car with a velcro pad. However I haven't managed to be able to see it clearly enough to do anything meaningful with it as it has very limited manouverability with the cables attached.

Every so often after the car is serviced it will work well for a month or two. I'm not sure what it is that the mechanic is doing that sorts it out, maybe it's a lose connection maybe it's some kind of electrical issue. But it doesn't even happen every year so I'm really not sure.

Hi all my 2009 Frv reversing unit failed so I bought a cheap no make system, drilled out existing sensors and fitted new sensors and wires it in, a wire to reversing light and wires to the beeper ( fixed next to existing sounder). I think I got the 'kit' for under £15.00 and apart from a little faffing around its been working for the last few years.

I didn't have the equipment to check the original control unit or each individual ultrasonic sensor so it seemed to logical cheap fix.
