Hi. My 2007 1.8 petrol needs a new lock actuator. There are a few on eBay, but not for the exact same model of FRV. I’m assuming Honda wouldn’t have changed the actuators between years and engine types, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks

Thank you Trevor... No luck with the books and even dealer (suggested to replace it).

I wonder if it is an 'average' fuel consumption meter and has settled down after a mixed driving style if you reset it then it may go back to the actual consumption figure Alternatively, a service may be due and the engine oil quality can contribute to a decrease in economy if the cylinder compressions are reduced with the oil not sealing the rings/bore as efficiently

Honda stream 2003 1.7 auto petrol thermostat required

Here is a selection of thermostats available on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=thermostat&_sacat=0&_from=R40&selcontext=productType%3ACAR_AND_TRUCK&selvel=Variant%3APetrol%2BMPV%2CCar+Make%3AHonda%2CCars+Type%3A1.7%2B16V%2CPlat_Gen%3ARN%2CCars+Year%3A2003%2CBodyStyle%3AFWD%2B--%2BRN%2CModel%3AStream%2CEngine%3A1668cc%2B92KW%2B125HP%2BD17A2%3BD17A5 -
Exhaust replacement parts longevity - centre silencer leak

I'm sure if there is corrosion around the area as long as it hasn't gone too deep then possibly it could be taken apart, cleaned up and a new gasket with sealant fitted -

Fine looking machine! How did it get on with the MOT test?
-
That looks aweful, what ever possessed them to cut it that badly. At the very least I would be tempted to tidy it up with a hacksaw so it doesn't look that bad or maybe put some trim over the edges (I think Halfords sell some door trim that may work)
-
I would strip the pads out and copperslip the contact points in the caliper carrier bracket then refit to see if that makes a difference

Have you fitted any aftermarket electrical equipment (dashcam, satnav, stereo) as this may have affected the power supply?
-
Not sure, but sounds like it needs reprogramming to learn the shift positions. A Honda dealership should be able to perform this operation Sometimes (on other vehicle makes) it can be done manually by resetting the system and driving it to learn the shift patterns but I think it may be best to take to Honda on this occassion

Agree with Scoobs and also the market dictates that it is audible for security and insurance reasons. My Alfa Romeo Mito was not switchable to silent arm/disarm but if you set the region to the Netherlands it would be possible to switch off.

possibly temperature control not working properly, but would require diagnosis to eliminate this as an issue. I would first check the cabin filter is not completely clogged up and not allowing air to flow through - a cheap and easy fix if this was the case

There are a few E:NY1 members in the forum now, so hopefully one of them might know the answer

Yes, very sad indeed that some of these stores are no longer around

Recently renewed MOT, some minor problems, but still roadworthy. Mileage is 207,000; colour Red. Contact me for further info (I would love to part-exchange, but wishful thinking) I got offered scrap value far less than any parts on it are worth (yes, I would sell if you wanted it for parts) Oh yes, recent new Alternator fitted. Edit: recent MOT expiry date 25/10/25

Interesting: I also have a CRV I want to sell (so i can upgrade to a newer Honda CRV).

Mine will do about 38-40 on a decent run where I can sit at 60, but the general commute, 20 miles each way with a bit of queueing, roundabouts, etc, sees it drop to 34-35. They are not an economical car when it comes to fuel consumption, the box is poorly matched to the engine in my view and I often think it's struggling. I can forgive it though as in four and a half years and 56k (now sitting at 104k) of ownership it's cost me nothing but routine servicing and consumables. You don't say what mpg you are seeing though; dependent on what you had before your expectations may need managing!

I measured the battery voltage with a multimeter. It was around 2.3V when it should have been 3.3! I guess one of the cells inside the battery must have suddenly failed to cause such a sudden voltage drop. I replaced the battery with another of the same batch and so far, so good.

Thanks a lot to BEL HR-V for writing above, I followed his guide, I also managed to make my 2000, Honda Civic EJ9 ULEZ compliant, with D14Z2 which has a NOx of 0,045 which is less than 0.08 g/km with HC: 0.129 g/km, follow the process above which is written by BEL HR-V 1. Apply for COC in https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/certificate-conformity.html( can take up to 2 weeks they send only by post so be patient) 2. Sign up in TFL website and Apply to become ULEZ 3. Upload the COC + V5 photos(all pages, can take up to 2 weeks, they send by email) 4. Ensure to mention your car is registered as compliant based on its emissions and not its euro standard rating 5. Any issues email cclondon@cclondon.com, check your spam folder for reply or call them on 0343 222 2222

sensor torqued down to correct spec. Has anyone experienced problems with cheap aftermarket sensors? Honda say they have all sorts of problems with aftermarket sensors and recommend only Honda parts are used ( but they would say that) I am about to buy the honda knock sensor for £150 to see if it fixes it Has anyone else had sensor problems that get fixed when genuine parts fitted?

Hello, I joined in August as we already have one 2013 Civic, but have recently bought a 2017 Civic diesel as I had written off my husbands Mondeo 😜😵 So we now have two Civics. However, I had a fiddle with the bits on the wheel, and changed to monitoring miles travelled on A. And it appears as though I may have turned off the stop/start function possibly by doing this, as a message flashed up something about it not being available, but I did not really see it well enough to read it properly (too quick). Sure enough, the stop/start no longer appears to be working, and I cannot find any information about getting it working again in the manual. Can anyone give me any information on this please??
