  2. Honda civic coupe EJ2. Manual 1.5 d15b7. Recently brought back to life. Lots of work carried out to revive this beautiful car. Rear arches and partial sill replacement. Resprayed in it's original Chamelia red pearl. This included new bonnet and bumpers with OEM front splitter. Head gasket replaced. Radiator, thermostat and engine temp sensor replaced. Aux belts changed and serviced carried out. New discs and pads. The interior is in brilliant condition other than a small tear on drivers bolster. Electric windows, mirrors and sunroof. Car is completely standard apart from spoon rep exhaust, aftermarket wheels with Toyo tyres, tinted windows and a BT head unit. 3 previous owners. Lots of paperwork and all original books. Original steels and hub caps will also come with the car if wanted. She drives really well. A very clean example that hasn't been modified or abused. Mileage is high, but evidence can be shown of all the work carried out. Only done 200 miles since completion. Super rare car particularly in this condition. Windscreen has some delamination. 11 months MOT. PX considered. Jap only. Next MOT due 16/04/2025, Part service history, Red, 3 owners, £7,750. More pictures and info on request.

  4. Hi, im new on here, i have a 2005 cr-v only 74k miles on the clock and it has a really annoying squeak coming from the rear drivers side when going over bumps and even roads. ive had it in the garage and they can`t find anything untoward, but it`s there and it is doing my head in. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
  5. I have a 66 plate HR-V EX with electric folding mirrors. The problem I have is they have a mind of their own, and keep opening and closing whilst driving the vehicle. Sometimes they will close for up to 5 mins and there’s nothing I can do to open them again. clearly an electrical / motor issue, has anyone else experienced a similar problem with their HR-V and what suggestions or advice can you offer please? The vehicle has only covered 27,000 miles. obvs the vehicle is now out of warranty. kind regards

  7. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase my first Honda as I'm after a reliable car that is well specced, well built and not going to lose too much value. I may have to resell in the next 2-12 months, depending on where my job takes me but that's irrelevant. My drive to the office is maybe once a week, 30-40 min B road drive so diesel will get up to temp, every short commute I walk. I also do routine hour plus journeys to see friends or go to customer sites. Now I'm deciding between which to buy from the following, and wondered if there's a difference in build quality as you find with say a BMW 1 series vs a 5, or a Mercedes A class vs an E: Civic 8th gen 2.2 EX 2008 Civic 9th gen 2.2 EX GT Hatch 2013 Civic 9th gen 1.6 EX Plus Tourer 2014 Hr-V 1.6 EX 2015 Cr-V 2.2 EX 2013 Accord 2.2 ES GT saloon 2011 Accord 2.2 EX GT Tourer 2008 Just wondering if there's a peak year for build quality. Unsure on the difference in engines i.e power, both slow but plenty of torque. Tax seems great for the i-DTEC unit other than in the accord for some reason. I don't fancy a remap, I know it kills the 8th gen clutches and guessing the 9th is no different. Obviously the spec on the 9th gen EX Plus is great, far beyond everything else here and I love the shape of the tourer, but is the Civic a lesser car than the Accord tourer, as in would the seats be worse, the soft touch materials less and more importantly the ride? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

  9. It's an easy fix; the auto transmission fluid needs to be changed at regular intervals (specific CVT requirement) and when the fluid is losing it's edge the judder is noticeable. Make sure that you use genuine Honda CVT fluid, it's an easy enough job and I've been doing my wife's car ever since the dealer warranty expired; it's 21 years old now.
  10. Hi I've recently bought a Honda CRV (my third Honda CRV in the last 10 years) but in this particular car, my oil light comes on every 1,000-1,500 miles. When I check the dipstick, there is no oul left so I have to keep topping it up. I've read the handbook which states that I may be expected to put 1 litre of oil in every 625 miles. Has anybody else had this problem? Regards
  11. I have a UK 2005 Honda Accord 2.4. Fault: (1) My VSA activation indicator warning triangle light comes on and stay on. (2) The VSA system indication warning light also comes on after a few 100m driving and stays on. I took my care to my local garage and they got an Error Code of 84-1 but their diagnostics tools doesn't allow further investigation and provides several options of possible causes. Therefore they are unable to fix the fault and suggested my car need to go to a Honda Garage or Honda specialised. Any idea's
  12. I would keep trying the release fluid and see if it does eventually free up Alternatively, try gently moving the wheel backwards and forwards in small motions as you try to the key in the lock
  13. Hi Just gone to insert key into lock and it was very stiff and will not turn on. Both keys are the same so I presume it is not the keys. Tried a bit of release fluid on the keys before insertion but that not help either. Has anyone else had the same problem and if so what did you do to overcome it. Didn't help any that the window and roof were open and it started to pour down and no manual closers that I could see. Couldn't believe it!!
  14. Hi, I've recently noticed that when the needle is sat between 60 and 70 mph, the needle bounces. I think the speed sensor could possibly be faulty. Can someone please tell me where the sensor is located? And is it a straightforward replacement? Thanks Simon
  15. Thanks for the replies. I’ve bought some snow/mud chains to fit and we’ll see what difference they make. I can also load the boot up with ballast if needbe (all jokes aside it may assist!)

    THE PUB

Ah now that's my passion....nothing like visiting an old English pub in the countryside for a nice pint of ale 🙂
  17. Hello.i have a honda jazz year 2012.i change the battery and the sensor parking not working.i clean them and still nothing.evryone no where is locale the central box for them maybe I cant reset them.i dont have buton for them.thankyou very much.
  18. I think if you have a transmission service done then any loose or worn components will surely be picked up during the service. Let us know how you get on with it
  19. The CR-V 4 wheel drive works on an 'as and when' basis....e.g. it kicks in if it loses traction so is technically a 'Crossover' rather than an 'All Wheel Drive' vehicle As Alan has mentioned, a lot of it comes down to tyres - if they are not off road tyres then you won't get any traction once the treads fill with mud

Thanks Alan gsd Did try the WD40 solution but unfortunately for me, it didn’t work. However I started doing some more logical testing as to when the door locks was activated. My analysis was: 1.0. The locks only triggered after 30 sec if the large back door was open. 2.0. Then I started looking the door sensor (see photo). The spring on that has come off so when the door is opened the lever doesn’t retract to the open position. when I manually slide the lever to the open position, the doors don’t lock. Could be I have cracked it, just need either a new lever or a compatible spring.
  21. Hi Paul, the more I look into the 4 wheel drive the more confused I get, we need Trevor or BAZZER RN words of wisdom to clear up if the 2005 CRV are all 4 wheel drive and if there is anyway of knowing when it kicks in.
  22. Had the same kind of problem with my 2005 CRV went round a put a spray of WD40 round each door window button and it's been ok since.
  23. Hi, did you get any further with fitting a subwoofer? I'm considering this myself for my hrv advance. Thanks
  24. Morning everyone, I am wondering if the forum can help me with a fairly simple question. My wife’s battered but much loved 2003 CRV, a few weeks ago developed an annoying habit namely if we open the back door to load, say shopping, after 30 sec there is a click and all the doors lock. The obvious danger is if we had accidentally put the keys on the floor of the boot and then closed the back door, we are locked out of the car. The accident just waiting to happen, did. Fortunately with the help of a host of bystanders, a coat hanger, string and a magnet, we managed to recover the keys. Further to add, no we don’t have a spare set of keys. Two question arose that I would value the forums comments on. 1. Has anyone come across the automatic locking condition before? It’s only just started happening so it’s either an electrical fault or a setting that I have accidentally triggered. 2. Can anyone suggest where I can get a replacement door key or FOB. I am not looking to be able to start the car as that would involve the expense of coding the immobiliser etc . I just want to open the door and recover the keys if it happens again. All comments appreciated. Les W

  26. Hello Thanks for your reply Do you know when and how the 4WD kicks in please?
  27. I've just bought a new "24" plate HR-V Hybrid Advance Style which, according to the manual, has the Traffic Sign Recognition System fitted which can show both speed signs and traffic signs. However, the system only ever shows speed signs but never any traffic signs. The dealership cannot understand this and don't know how to fix it and a query direct to Honda UK unhelpfully tells me to go back to the dealership. Has anyone any knowledge of this issue or whether it is still an active system?
