Civic 2006 to 2011

Hi all! Recently purchased an 08 1.8 ivtec 5door hatch UK spec and have an issue with the right drivers side window run channel. It has a small nick in it which causes the window to jam. But the biggest issue with this is... Honda have discontinued the part and it seems no where sells it!!! Does anyone has a source for this part? i believe the part number to be 72235-SMG-E01 (but you can correct me on that) Any help from any other owners would be huuugely appreciated! Thanks guys

I have had Lionel from new and have wanted to upgrade the feeble horn. How do I get to it and can I fit another one adjacent? I fitted another one in parallel on my Jazz and it sounded great afterwards. That location was in front of the o/s front wheel behind the wheel arch liner. I have finally discovered it down by aircon heat exchanger, RH side when viewed from front. It looks extremely difficult to connect another one in parallel unless I remove sump guard etc.

Hi, my Speedo on my 2011 Civic 2.3 cdti is playing up. It'll be fine then it will start flashing 888 or more commonly you can see 888 in the background but still see the actual speed as its brighter. A new speedo is in the region of £700 from Honda. My questions are:- anyone know if there's a way to try and fix it and if not there's lots of second hand ones listed on ebay. They all seem to a different E numbers. Will one from a early manufacture still work in mine? Thanks for your help. Mags

Hi Stupid newbie question....Just looking at buying a 2008 civic which is listed as sequential manual. I have also seen sequential autos and wondered if these are different or if they are just different names for the ISHIFT system? MY missis doesn't want to drive an auto or semi auto and I have heard that the I SHIFT system can be problematic? Ta in advance!

Hi all new member here, just bought a 68 plate (Jan 2019) Civic 1.5L Manual Prestige, running on petrol. I was reading the car manual which says it is ok to use regular petrol aka E10 ones temporarily but not for ongoing use as otherwise it might damage the engine. Is this actually the case? I am not sure if I am prepared to pay for the premium E5 petrol on a regular basis in view of current sky high fuel price in the UK...but then when I look at this official Honda article on this topic it seems to suggest both E5 and E10 petrol are fine to use. Any advice are appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi there, I've wanted to change the head unit in my 2014 Honda Civic to something a little bit more modern. I took the car to Halfords as they seemed to be good value. However, they tried installing the stereo only to find that the stereo would turn itself off after about a minute or so. They tried two different units (Kenwood and Pioneer) and the same thing happened. In the end I think they just gave up as they didn't know what the issue was. Apparently they tried a few cables too, to no avail. Thankfully, I was not charged for anything. Does anyone know why this might happen? The standard stereo works fine, so doesn't seem to be a power issue (or a cabling issue?). …

Hi, I have a 2007 Honda Civic type S 1.8. When the car is started I can hear a grinding type noise, but when I press the clutch down the noise goes away. Also when driving the grinding noise is there. I had the clutch bearing replaced (there where three parts of the clutch changed but I don't know the names of them parts) Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Hi I have been fitting a trailer to my civic 1.0 I decided to get the tow bar fitted , then I had to wire up the trailer once I fitted the trailer to the car and pushed in the electric plug and tried the lights , first of all I got them all working apart from the back near side so I took the light cover of while the car was running with lights on then I noticed the terminal was not touching the bulb so I move it over to touch it as I did the trailer lights went out apart from the indicators they still work but no tail lights all the car lights still workI have not tried the the brake lights on the trailer, now to me I would think it must be a fuse but where would it be an…

Hi folks Just looking to see if anyone has any idea what is going on with my civic. I own a 2007 Honda Civic type S 1.8 petrol semi-automatic. On Friday when I started it it came up with the system check cog, the engine still run fine but it wouldn't let me go out of neutral. It eventually went away and was okay. Hi, does anybody know what products is best to improve visibility of rear spoiler window that is made of Lexan polycarbonate and has UV damage. I wonder if anyone knows if it’s possible to replace rear spoiler window with a glass alternative and if this can be done? Hi people I have recently bought a 2013 civic 1.6 dtec ex while driving home it came up with battery system check and died on me the garage I bought it from had already replaced the battery before I had bought it and I had just been on holiday in the lakes and not a problem then this has anyone else had a similar issue the garage are repairing it but is there likely to be a deeper issue

I have bought an automatic civic 5 door 1.8 i-VTEC SE registered 30.03/2011. Since owning this car it was unable to start after 20 minutes of having the ignition on whilst checking the dashboard with the manual. Yet when I tried again 10 minutes later it started first time. Next the remote could not activate the lock to allow entry so I had to use the key. Then the radio decided to refuse to work and defaulted to AUX but it would not turn on and none of the buttons worked. Yet 4 days later it worked fine. Hi guys. I have a problem. When I press the clutch my car rpms goes below the normal idle and after comes back where idle should be. I cleaned throttle body and mass air flow sensor. Hi my mums type s civic front headlights have been advised on the mot as being faded can these be cleaned easily looks like its inside the light ? I saw on youtube you have to take the front bumper off to pull the lights out is that correct? Looks like a lot off work Just had another look not sure if it inside or outside thats faded.... Hi all, I Recently had the car in for a diagnostic check and the garage confirmed the engine was getting up to temp (78c)? but the heater in this car is useless! I have it on max constantly and in this weather the car is never warm inside even after 40+ minutes of driving. The air that comes out of the vents is tepid at best. I am having to wear my coat, hat and gloves all the time while driving this car! 😨 I know diesels do take a while to warm up but surely this is not right? I did ask the garage to investigate it but they were a bit dismissive and just said the car is getting up to temp and the heater works... The car is a 2007 Civic 2.2ctdi.…

I have tried to pin down the type of auto transmission fluid filter I need for my 2011 Civic auto 1.8 i-VTEC. There appears to be different types but all listed as suitable replacements. Has anyone else come across this. Also will replacing the old fluid increase the mpg as it is pretty poor. If not are there any suggestions as to improving the mpg. I am not a heavy footed driver! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Pete

Hi all, I have a 2007 2.2 diesel I parked it up last October while I was doing bots and pieces I started it in February and as expected it fired right up however I tried starting it 2 weeks ago but it wouldn't even crank over theres a clicking noise from the glow plug relay but nothing else the starter was tested and is fine, I'm stumped any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Good evening, would like some advice please... so few weeks ago changing gear was getting harder and harder and was grinding gears so took it into a garage who replaced the clutch master cylinder said it was leaking and had no fluid in biting point is really low to the ground but no clutch slippage. 2 weeks on biting point is still pretty low to the floor and sometimes still grinds putting it into a gear its much better than it was but still occasional, also the gear lever in general feels like it could go in and out of gears a bit easier not the smoothest ... anyone any ideas?? does it need a clutch adjustment or gearbox oil change…
