CR-V 2007 to 2011

  1. Started by Lisa,

My CR-V went in for it's 4 year service and 3 days later I drove it, parked up did some shopping for an hour and came out and it wouldnt start. I called my breakdown company and they came out and it started straight away. The same thing happened last week, called the breakdown and they jump started it. it was fine, ran it for few hours but the next morning it wouldn't start. Charger said it was at 50% so charged to 100%, the next day it failed to start. Recharged battery, disconnected it from the car and left it overnight. Reconnected it back up and it started. Does anyone know anything about this type of problem in the 2017 CR-V iDTec please? I'm having to take i…

  2. Hello all, I have a Honda CR-V EX i-VTEC automatic, model year 2007. Last month, my car failed to start when I turned on the engine. It seems the battery had a dead cell and was replaced under warranty. A week later, the car failed to start again! I called RAC, who conducted a battery test and found no issues. They jump-started the car for me, and I was able to take it to the garage, where they confirmed that the battery is healthy and did not show any drops. This morning, my car failed to start once more (Second time since changing battery). It has been 9 days since RAC jump-started it, and my new battery is flat. When I turn off the car, …

Hi All, I have a 2007 CRV, and a 2010 Wiring Harness for tow connection - part number 08L91-sww-6 -12N Problem i have is the 12N (7Pin side) has been chopped off. Looking at the wiring, i think i have figured out all the wires, except one! Pics attached, but essentially i dont know where the red+Black wire goes. From the harness, it looks like it goes to the right side cluster (looking at the car from the back). The harness itself looks like it replaces the existing one in the car with the blue connectors going in between the exiting wiring. I have duplicate blue and grey which i believe is for the fog light, wi…

  4. Dear Forum, I have a question if I may please ? we have unfortunately lost one of our keyless fobs for the above vehicle. I've contacted 2 dealers to get prices for replacement keyless fobs, both have quoted eye watering prices, we are talking nearly £500 from one & £650 from the 2nd ! I expected a replacement to be expensive but wasn't prepared for those kind of prices. I'm just exploring different options, we may be able to claim from home insurance for a replacement for example. Are there any independent replacement key specialists that anyone would recommend or is this dealer replacement only ? Thank you in advance for your considered opi…

Hello, I don't know if anyone can help. We lost our main key fob this week. Our second key fob has never worked and Honda failed to take any responsibility. So we only have a key fob which works if you hold it over the stop/start button. It isn't the battery that is dead. This isn't the problem. Can anyone recommend someone who can fix this fob without costing the earth like at Honda? Many thanks, Thomas

I have a 2013 CR-V with am/fm cd audio and would like to add DAB. I have a genuine Honda CR-V audio Model 39100-T1G-G311-M1 which has FM/DAB but when I swapped it with the original unit the DAB does not work. Do I need an adaptor or some other additional part?

Hi, folks. Adding to the To Do List on my 2.2 with 147k on it. I've a terrible worksheet to get thru on this. Currently looking at removing the EGR valve. I've managed to get a small peek and it's absolutely caked. Just amatter of time before a code appears. Slight hesitation from stationary or low speed. It goes like a rocket, but seems EGR is the problem. Any advice on removal please? Thanks.

Hi, I am hoping for any advice on the Sat Nav fault I have. I recently bought a 2014 CRV for my wife. It came with a Sat Nav built in and initially worked perfectly. However for the past few weeks it does not work at all. On starting the car there is a notice on the screen advising that there is a problem with the GPS and provides certain steps to take. I have tried all these steps ( area with good signal, remove phones, etc) bar taking the car to the dealership. Not having the Sat Nav isn't the biggest problem, this notice on the screen does not go away and is therefore blocking all the other features - Bluetooth, set the clock, radio stations etc. It is extremely disapp…

  11. The problem tends to occur after driving for 25-30 minutes, so most often on restart (clutch pedal depressed) after auto-stop. On depressing the clutch pedal, there's about 1-2 seconds of screeching/grating as the starter motor kicks in. This doesn't sound great, but is intermittent, in that you can predict roughly when it might happen, but can't reliably repeat the symptom. We took it back to the garage who sold us the 3-year-old vehicle back in November, but they couldn't repeat it either. It only ever happens a couple of times and then never again on the same trip. It's obviously in some way connected to engaging the starter mot…

Hi all. I have an intermittent fault on my 2015 CRV diesel auto in that over time, the D drive light flashes for a while which sometimes makes shifting harsh and moving off pretty sluggish. It also stops reverse selecting unless i switch off and restart. Reading the codes, it says code )0974, P0977, P0980 and P0983 which are the 4 drive solenoids all going to open circuit. The odd thing is, any one of the codes can occur first then if I continue to drive, the rest of the codes will randomly show up. All this leads me to think it is a problem with the harness but I have checked all the connections on the gearbox with no apparent problems so perhaps it is at another juncti…

Just got my first Honda last week, it's not new and looks a bit tired in places. I had a look online if people spruce them up at all and add some personal touches but have found an absolute nada. I've got more of a Ford background and my Fiesta ST had a lot of nice interior and exterior mods done to make it my own but Honda community seems to be more conservative. Is there anyone here that has done any modifications to their car to make them, well, more noticeable? I don't necessarily mean in Hot Rod style but so that I can find my car in the car park more like...

  16. does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes o/s front wishbone with a bracket to attach rod for self leveling switch(zenon lights).plenty without the bracket at reasonable cost.Only managed to find genuine HONDA wishbone which has the bracket at a cost of £730.Alternatively is it possible to get old one re -bushed or perhaps improvise a bracket, though as i understand its not a good idea or legal to weld small bracket.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  17. I am a senior who really likes his new CRV but I just discovered fishing in a bass boat. The problem is bass boats are heavy and expensive. Is it nuts to tow a boat that is a couple hundred pounds over the 1500lb tow rating. All my fishing is 15 to 20 minutes away from my home and fairly flat. Any thoughts and yet I am going to add a transmission cooler just to be safe. I would appreciate anyone who has experience with this and their thoughts!! Thank you!

Hello, I have a 2011 CRV 4WD with 140,000 miles. Last year, I noticed a delay when shifting into second gear, and it became jerky. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the transmission fluid, but the issue actually got worse. He then replaced the solenoid, which seemed to help for a few months. After another visit to the mechanic, the diagnostic test indicated an issue, so I ordered new solenoids and had them all replaced. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. Currently, it struggles to shift into second gear. When it does manage to engage, accelerating causes the engine to rev up, and it slips back out of gear.

  20. New member 1st time post! My 2018 1.6 diesel auto CRV (bought from new) had been sitting on the drive not doing anything for 2.5 weeks and then I ventured out to to the shops but knew it would need a little run out but, 5 mins in to the motorway journey to the supermarket, it went into limp mode for the 1st time and then I also got the warning sign that the start/stop won't work as the battery is too low! I limped home and left it a day. then took it out to try again and basically run all the kinks out. I drove for 30 mins and on the motorway at high-ish revs and the low battery start/stop warning light went off but the engine management light stayed on. Its a …

Its not a fault noise just normal engine noise. It's almost as if some sound proofing is missing or a grommet is not put back properly. Ive searched but cant see anythingout of place. Any ideas

Does anyone have any idea how much a blue Honda 2011 CR-V EX with just under 50 000 miles would have cost in Dec 2020/Jan 2021? Work that needed to be done on it: needed MOT, dud battery replacing, needed 4 new tyres, tracking adjusting, new front brake pads and disks, parking sensor to be replaced, headlight washer bottle replacement. The rear diff was making the usual juddering on full lock from contamination, so needed a full 3 litre drain, flush, fill, drive repeat etc. Body work was relatively good with a few chips that had turned rusty, a bit dog hairy inside (including a nice fluffy cabin filter!), but not excessive. I did a full service on it…

  25. 2010 Honda CR-V Auto Whilst the rear sensors are very loud, the front resemble the squeak of a dying mouse. Honda said that both sounds are made by the same unit and a replacement unit will cost over £350. Any ideas for amplifying the front sensors? Thanks in anticipation Brian Pfeiffer
