CR-V 2016 to 2022

  1. Started by Jebs,

Hi Members, I'm new here and looking at a used Black Edition Honda CR-V trim. However, I'm not a car expert but a quick look at one review, https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/honda/cr-v/96654/honda-cr-v-black-edition-2016-review. it points out some weak points. Does any of you have experience with this car? Thank you.

Hi, I am newbie to the site and have been a dedicated user of Honda products from 1980 when I purchased my first, a Honda Lawnmower. I was so pleased with the product and its functionality , I thought there must be something behind the tales about Honda brilliant engineering and customer service. Since then i have bought yet another lawnmower, 2 Civics a 2.2L Diesel and the 1.6L Diesel and 3 CRV's 2 x 2.2L Diesel and one 2020 AWD Hybrid EX . Apart from the Hybrid they have all been excellent. I purchased the latest 2020 CRV Hybrid in 2021 as an ex demonstrator which had 3000 miles on the clock and came with 29 months of the 3 year warranty remaining plus a 5 year de…

My 2016 Honda CRV has been driving me wild with a sometimes quite loud hum/squeel from the front nearside wheel when I enter a left hand corner. I have replaced the discs and brake pads, checked all the suspension etc but cannot detect the problem. Its not constant but only occassionely normally after travelling. Thanks over 10 miles. Any help would be most appreciated . Thanks Barrie

Hi, I'm looking to rejoin the fold having been away for 5 years after running an Accord for the previous 10. Such a pity they are no longer available in the UK. I'm considering a CR-V Hybrid as a daily runner and grandchildren's taxi. There are a few other options obviously but I am drawn back to the 'H'. Looking at 2020/21 due to the price, which I believe is way to high, so the question is are there any obvious faults/problems to be aware of?

Hi All, my fob has died. I have changed the battery (checked it in my other fob it works fine) i can get a fob online or from a breakers yard ( i am not going to pay the £600 the dealer wants) but it will need to be paired to my car. Can i do this myself or not? You tube has been unhelpful!

Hi I've recently bought a Honda CRV (my third Honda CRV in the last 10 years) but in this particular car, my oil light comes on every 1,000-1,500 miles. When I check the dipstick, there is no oul left so I have to keep topping it up. I've read the handbook which states that I may be expected to put 1 litre of oil in every 625 miles. Has anybody else had this problem? Regards

Just bought a 2019 Crv Hybrid. Has anyone any experience of purchasing new mats other than the genuine Honda mats which appear to be expensive. My car didn't have any and the Halford generic version don't fit well. Thanks for any help as there's loads on ebay but don't want to risk wasting cash on rubbish.

Hi all. Just purchased a 2019 CRV hybrid and one thing which I've noticed is what seems like a fair amount of road/tyre noise, is that typical? My car has Bridgestone Dueler tyres all round, I don't think I've read that these are particularly noisy. Don't think it's CVT noise and I can hear it when the car is cruising and in EV mode. I've also been struggling a little with the audio system - took me a while to work out how to configure the DAB radio presets and the user manual was no use at all. Other than that impressions are good - lots of space, decent quality, nice looks etc.

Hi, I have just bought my car today 2017 version. I have roof rails but they are too far back for my 480L roof box to fit. I want to think about fitting bars without the rails instead so I can push forwards 20cm to the normal points. Has anyone done this? May sound silly but the boxes Are expensive. I am an occasional roofbox person so need a cheap solution to the box as it hase with a 50cm overhang which stops the boot opening! Thanks 🙏 Daniel

I have a 2018 CRV SE+ 1.6 diesel. If I stall this car it is sometimes reluctant to start when warm. The engine turns over on the starter, there is some clattering but fails to fire up. The other day I refueled the car when warm which took about 5 minutes and attempting to start it again I had the same problem. It took about 5 or 6 attempts to get it to fire up. The owners manual says if the engine fails to start to wait for 1 minute before trying again but 1 minute is a long time to wait if you stall at traffic lights etc. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Hi there , sorry if this has been posted before but I'm looking at getting my CRV 2017 black edition remapped. I'm considering a superchips remap as they seem good value with the discount at the moment. Is there anyone who has had their CRV mapped by them and can recommend them ? Thanks 😊

Hi. My new (to me) CRV was damaged recently when someone tried to break into it. They pulled the plastic fairing on the tailgate (I think the official name is "Lower Tailgate Garnish Assembly") and broke some of the internal fittings. I've removed all the snap fittings and bolted it back on using just the 4 bolts at the corners. It looks to be in the right position but it's very difficult to get to the release button. Can any one tell from the attached photos what is wrong? I just can't see how the button assembly could ever line up with the cut-out in the faring. Rob

Hi all. I recently had a towbar fitted to my CRV and I'm not too impressed with the way it looks after - the cut out in the bumper is quite rough and not straight, it just looks like someone has taken a hacksaw to it (which presumably they did). I asked my local main dealer whether or not there was a trim kit you can fit onto the cut out but apparently there isn't. Anyone able to suggest anything?

Hi, I've recently bought a low mileage 2017 CR-V EX AWD. It's great apart from the really loud whining wiper noise. I understand it's common on the Swindon, UK made cars and possibly the bad parts they sourced. It really spoils the car, so I'm wondering if there's a wiper for the same car from a different market that isn't as noisy? It's not a mechanical failure noise, just a high-pitched silly whine that's really intrusive. Many thanks :)

Hi. On my 2018 CR-V, the water-in-fuel sensor came on about two years ago. I was 400 miles from home; the Edinburgh Honda dealer was useless so I called mine at home to ask what I should do. It was suggested it was probably a faulty sensor so I returned safely home. Weeks later at the next annual service the fuel filter was changed and showed there was no water present. Anyway I didn't get the sensor sorted and now 15,000 miles later the icon depicting water droplets over a petrol tank is still illuminated. The cost I've been quoted to replace the sensor is £277. Any suggestions for a cheaper solution?
