Just purchased 1999 HRV in immaculate condition with only 28,000 verified miles. Only issue is when initially pulling off the car shudders/vibrates occasionally but only for a few seconds then drives perfectly. I've heard comment of transmission fluid and filter? Is that possible?

Hello lovely HRV Owners I have a 1999 metallic yellow HRV which has recently failed it's MOT, and I was advised it was beyond economical repair. It's at the back end. It needs new suspension thingies and sills, as it's badly corroded underneath in that area. Garage estimated 20 hours of work. (Sorry, haven't got paperwork to hand at the moment). The engine is good, and has done around 143,000 miles, and drives well. I've owned this car for 23 years, and I'm completely broken hearted that we have to part company. He's been like a best friend to me, and never let me down. Always starting first turn of the key! The reason for my post is that I cannot bare the th…

My car is a honda hr-v year 2000 4wd 1.6cc petrol. This car was not ULEZ compliant until recently. As Transport for London only deems petrol cars with euro 4 standard as compliant, and my car is a 2000 model with a euro 3 standard, it automatically went into the non-compliance big sack. As I work just inside of London and need my car to get there, I was faced with the upheaval of replacing a perfectly working car for something else at considerable costs and hassle. I then by chance discovered that all hr-v models from 2001 onwards (petrol) are all automatically deemed compliant and do not have to pay the charge. As my car has the exact same engine as those later…

Hi all again. I have this annoying shudder when starting off from stopped. It only lasts a second, then is gone, until your taking off from being stopped again. The car runs perfectly at all speeds in every other way. If it were a manual car, my first guess would be to think it would be the clutch, or as its a 4 X 4 prop bearings. May be significant, but it only does this after it has been running at least a few minutes, perfect when stone cold, no shudder/judder. I am going to try and discount the gearbox, by having a fluid and filter change. If that has muck in it from 86000 miles of use, (no evidence the fluid has ever been changed) that might m…

Hello all. l was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem with their Honda car? The automatic box works well apart from this juddering when starting from stationary. It is the same in reverse as it is going forward. Not apparent at all when Stone Cold, gets worse as the car gets hotter. So l think that precludes things like engine mounts, or box mounts. I think it needs a filter and fluid change. What do you think, am I right, or is there something more likely that you know of with the benefit of Honda experience? Please let me know, any help would be gratefully accepted.

Hi all, just joined the club so first off thanks for having me. Secondly I have not long since bought a 2003 HR-V 1.6 petrol (103 horses) which is my little shooting buggy (going across fields etc) and I have a couple of questions... Does anyone have any recommendations on off road tyres for them and Any ideas on how I can eek a little more power from it cheaply? Steep hills mean 3rd gear to cope. Thanks and looking forward to your thoughts. Phil

Hi Does anyone have photos of the 1999+ hrv instrument cluster wires? The two green plugs on the back of the cluster. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could take a picture of the plugs and wire colors please. I’m doing an instrument cluster swap and just need pictures of the plug and wires so I can try to figure out the wire functions. Thanks!

I’ve tried looking through an online manual but can’t seem to find it as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

04 4wd hrv with intermittent abs fault. Light spends most time off, however, when idling, it comes on. Changed abs master to no avail. Either with the original unit or with working replacement, driver side (abs directly above) shows faulty sensor. However, it clears and problem presented points to abs control unit. Any help appreciated!

Hey, I just bought myself an 2004 Honda HRV. All is perfect with the car except some bruising and a missing dipstick tubing. Long story short, they broke it off in a service while switching oil. So is there a chance anyone can point me to a direction where I can find only housing for dipstick (plastic tube). Used or new doesn't really matter. Ps. Have checked junkyard near me and they don't have any Honda HRV.

Hello, I am looking for a lower bumper (?), especially the screws, because I've got some missing on one side, but neither I know how is that part called nor I can find the screws OEM number. I hope someone could help me. I've marked the part in the photo using red line. Thanks.

I have a question about interior size of the original generation HR-V. I am 6’4” tall (190cm) and I am interested in a 1998 HR-V (2-door hatchback). The HR-V does not have a sunroof. I have driven a 2016 Honda Fit and a 2018 HR-V. Both of those had sunroofs and I fit OK. I cannot find interior dimensions (headroom or legroom) of the original generation Honda HR-V online. Will the 1998 HR-V be big enough for me?

Hi Fellas, I'm trying to buy second transmitter and key for me HR-V '99. The key is no problem, however transmitter with part number 72147S2HG01 is no longer available and service repair manual doesn't state which frequency its running on(Europe) which would be handy to find alternative once the parameter is known. Any ideas? Many thanks

I recently bought a second hand 1999 Hrv and it has an Immobiliser key and it has gotten damaged so now the circuit won’t complete and as a result the car won’t even do anything. Anyone know a way to totally bypass it?

The rear door straps in my 2002 HR-V have been broken for a while now (before I had the car in fact) and I've been trying to find replacements online. The only ones I could find were in Lithuania, and postage was about 5 times what the actual part cost. 😞 Can I replace them with one from a similar aged Honda, say a CR-V or Jazz?

Just one minor advisory which was a small oil leak near the front of the engine. Not bad for a 20 year old car with 146k miles! 🙂

Hi again. I've just had an mot health check done on my 2002 HR-V and the found the following issues: - Both Rear Tyres - Oil Sump Leaking (Gasket?) - Both rear Anti-roll Bar Links - Corroded Underside. I'm not too bothered about the majority of it, but the sump is concerning. Will it be expensive to fix?
