Hi everyone my names Richie. I'm from Co. Wicklow in Ireland and said i'd join to get some information on Honda's and thoughts along my build and read along other peoples builds and any teething issues along the way. I drive a 2007 Accord Type S for a daily driver and an EP3 Type R for a weekend / blow off steam car. I've only got the Type S about a week so since getting this i just added wind deflectors as otherwise its all good and fits my comfort levels for a daily driver. I don't want to take the comfort or fuel economy out of it. The EP3 i have about a year and I've done some work & upgrades already to this one with plenty more along the way. I've to date done the following: Upgraded Honda Clutch master cylinder Hardrace Engine mounts Hardrace front bushings Hardrace balljoints Hardrace inner tie rods Hardrace outer tie rods Hardrace front anti rollbar bushes Hardrace front anti rollbar drop links GReddy Oil Temp, Oil Pressure & Water Temp Digital/analogue gauges Oil filter sandwich plate Blox Air filter (K&N one that was on it when i bought it was way past it) Carbon Fibre air intake cover New Excedy Clutch 3 piece kit and input shaft bushing New gearbox oil seals Gearbox oil change with OEM Honda gearbox oil Engine Oil & Coolant Flush New Motul 5w30 Fully synthetic motor oil OEM Honda oil filter New Iridium tip spark plugs New OEM Honda knock sensor New OEM Honda Lambda Sensor New Coolant temperature sensor New Uniroyal Rainsport 5's all round The EP3 had a K&N Typhoon air filter system when i bought it and coilovers which i will be removing to fit standard suspensions back onto it with lowering springs. I'm sure there's loads more but that's all i can think of at the minute. I'll get a build thread up with some pictures of work done along the way. Still a good bit of work to do on it mainly to the rear end suspension setup, some bodywork to clean it up and then a gearbox rebuild as my 4th gear syncro has started to give trouble. I've had a few Honda's in my past, an EM1 coupe, an EJ9 and a CL Accord. Nothing along the EP3 lines thou.

with the engine running you can reset the clock but if you turn the engine off the clock returns to the last time, if going on a long journey i set mine before i set off as long as you dont turn the engine off it will be ok, also you can set it with key in 2 position when stationary but if you start the engine the time lapse is enough to put it back to square one. Honda uk know of the problem and are working on a fix but no date as yet.

I went ahead and bought them; at only £100 I thought it worth a punt given the positive reviews elsewhere. I got them from The Roofbox Company and paid the extra £3 for 48hr delivery; they turned up a day early. Got around to fitting them yesterday; they look well made and after a brief test run with my roofbox, they seem to be up to the job and with very little wind noise. The instructions weren't that clear and if you do buy some, resist the temptation to slacken the nuts that allow the ends to slide on the bar to change the width. There's a clever device inside the bar that allows you to do this by way of a supplied long reach socket once they are on. Only thing I don't like is that whilst there's substantial rubber feet that sit under the clamps that sit on the top of the roof edge, they don't extend under under the roof line so you have metal to metal contact. I cut up some old rubber gloves to fashion a protective barrier. If I was to use these frequently (I've only bought to go on holiday) then I'd look for something more substantial; I once used bike inner tubes for this purpose on my Volvo 940 for roofbars which attached to the gutter (remember those?). Also be aware that due to the curve of the roof line over the rear doors, the maximum distance between the bars is only 65cm. You're not going to want to carry any boards or mattresses, but my roof box just about fits. I'll update when I get back from my holiday.

just had same problem, Honda wanted £350 for the part - can get one through Amazon for around £25 but coming from China, I could not wait that long so bought one from eBay company in Wolverhampton £52 inc. post, HUGE difference !!!! local garage charged me £58 to fit including topping up with oil - Very disappointed with my local Honda dealership so I don`t use them anymore They skrewed up my auto gearbox 4 years ago - charged me over £500 for the privelage then cost a further £2004 for a specialist company to supply and fit recon box !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honda are rubbish extortionate prices !!!! Just my opinion.
