Jerome Naylor Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Hi All, I have just replaced the ignition / steering lock on my '07 1.3 Jazz. Second hand parts with key. Now it seem like the starter motor is disconnected from the engine. I didn't change the 2 plug in plastic electrical parts that form the keyhole to the ignition barrel. I still have the old key to operate the central locking. Could this be the problem? Do I need to use the keyhole part that matches the key? I'm pretty new to this so please forgive me primitive descriptions. Any tips will be gratefully received. Many thanks in advance Jerome
Trevor Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 You will also need the immobiliser ECU as well (small white or grey box from memory) I carried out the same job quite a few years ago and got a secondhand ignition switch, chip reader and ECU with replacement key for the ignition. Worked as soon as I plugged it all in as it recognised the components working in sync which is how it would have on the vehicle the parts came from
