NOT a new topic, but in fact the Holy Grail! How is it possible that such a mundane thing as an exhaust gas temperature sensor is not compatible across a number of vehicles? I've been robbed of my cat and it looks like I'll have to scrap this car which I've only had a for a year. Can anyone help with getting a used one or a generic one or anything?

I would imagine if the resistance values are the same for the OE part and an aftermarket one that 'fits the hole' then it should be okay to use as its only measuring the gas temperature and all exhaust temp sensors would read about the same temp for the gases
