  3. Hello. I am new to this forum but not to forums. I joined HOC a few months ago after purchasing my CB750, a USA import requiring complete restoration. I have no problem wielding a spanner and stripping a bike to individual parts and building it back up. My problem is painting the decorative bits, tank and side panels, so i after a local company to take care of it for me. But i am struggling to find somebody. I live just outside York and would welcome any recommendations from my fellow members. The bike is up and running and now i am working on improvements. I am after the original paint colour and livery for the year. Any help would be apprecia…

Hi my name is Marc (new member) and I own a metalic bronze 1978 Hoda Civic 1.2 5 door. The car is in excellent condition and runs well apart from a recent problem of the carburetor leaking badly after priming and restarting car after 18 months lay up. I have contacted the local Portsmouth Honda dealer who was very helpful and passed my request for a carb refirb kit to Honda UK. Unfortunately they are unable to help due to the age of the car, and I was wondering if any member can point me in the right direction. The carb in question is a GT3 DCG - 306 - 45A. As the car runs well I will only require a gasket and O ring kit if possible. Any help wou…

  7. Hello everyone, I have a Black 1987 Prelude Si, that has been wrecked; however, it has a relative new engine in it that has only 50,000 miles on it! I have all the paperwork of maintenance history, and it was maintained meticulous with oil and filter changes and scheduled maintenance! The car has 362,985.4 miles on the speedometer with the engine replacement taking place at 310,000 miles performed at Honda dealership. There are many good parts on the car, such as 4-speed transmission, some of the front and rear suspension parts that mike0010 mentioned in his post on July 29th, 2020. …

  8. Hi, I have recently purchased a 1989 Honda Prelude 2.0 EX Auto with a B20A4 12 valve engine with only 22000 miles. However this car has been stood in a garage next to a river for 28 years. Within this time it had suffered two floods and at one point been completely submerged. I’m now in the process of trying to recommission the car . The Body, trim and paint have cleaned up well. However I’m really struggling to find or obtain mechanical parts including exhaust ‘“currently making’’ and internal engine parts including , valves, piston rings and gasket sets. Even though I’m experiencing some significant headaches. I have to say I’m really impressed with car and …

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a 1998 Honda Accord with 39K original miles on the clock. I'd been hit by another vehicle that failed to give way and needed transportation. I'm planning to move back to American later this year, and I'm really just posting here to let everyone know that this nearly new car will be available for purchase is someone wants it. Thanks for listening. Bruce

I need to replace the pads on a 2014 CR-V AWD. I understand that this car can use different braking systems. Is there any way to tell the type of pad other than dismantling? The sevo has a Bosch sticker on it. Any recommendation for non Honda pads? Regards Ray.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the “In” I have a problem with the flat screen on my head unit. The right hand end of the touch screen doesn’t work. Honda dealer in Guildford did a factory reset - - fail. I’m told it is near impossible to fit an after market head unit, and I’ve been quoted £2000 for a new unit. HELP PLEASE!

Hi please help. Just bought the car mention in the title, the problem I have is when I press the open on the nav console, the screen lowers satisfyingly but when I press close nothing happens also my cd player won't work and if I offer a cd then the eject motor makes a noise but won't take or spit out any CDs! Cars great otherwise (so far)

  16. Hi, just joined the forum. Whilst I love the Jazz, now covered about 26000 miles, I have suffered from intermittent losses of engine power, right from first bought from new. They can last a few seconds or several minutes, but in all cases, the engine never cuts out and tickover is steady at about 800 rpm. This suggests that fuel or air starvation is the likely cause. Removing and refitting the fuel cap makes no difference. The worst occasion only cleared itself after turning off the engine for about 30 minutes. I have asked the Honda dealer to investigate at each service but no fault was recorded. Another problem which may be related is the la…

Hi All, My name is Dave and I am new to this site. I have always had an affinity for Honda cars over my driving life. To date I have owned 5. Starting from the 5th Gen through to the 8th Gen. My current Honda is a car I saw my Biology Teacher driving in 1993. It fascinated me as a schoolboy. I loved it's beautiful curves, long bonnet and aggressive looking headlights. I didn't know it then but the sound of the engine would soon become an iconic status symbol!! Once day, I told myself, I will own this car. 29 years later, I finally found one that matched all my specifications I required. The car is a 1995 Honda Prelude i-VTEC.

I fitted a new AC compressor and refilled with gas. The AC does not appear to hae been working for some years and the original compressor pump bearing had started to rattle. The clutch does not engage and I suspect the relay. Problem is that I can not make out the symbols on the inside of the underhood fusebox cover and can't identify the correct relay. An any member assist. Many thanks Kenb
