Hi I am in a small village on the outskirts of Swansea I have a 55 reg Accord with 98,000 plus on the clock but still running as sweet as a nut. It was recalled a couple of years ago because of a possible paassenger air bag deployment which would fill the passengers face with shards of plastic. Last year the air bag light came on and my very good and trusted garage sorted it for me. The air bag squib wass £690 and I got the conputer, which could not be reset, vrom Lithuania (identical number). Have any othger members had the same problem. Do any of the members know of a reliable Honda specialst garage in the Swansea area, please? All the bes…

Hi, just joined the forum. Whilst I love the Jazz, now covered about 26000 miles, I have suffered from intermittent losses of engine power, right from first bought from new. They can last a few seconds or several minutes, but in all cases, the engine never cuts out and tickover is steady at about 800 rpm. This suggests that fuel or air starvation is the likely cause. Removing and refitting the fuel cap makes no difference. The worst occasion only cleared itself after turning off the engine for about 30 minutes. I have asked the Honda dealer to investigate at each service but no fault was recorded. Another problem which may be related is the la…

Hi, Just purchased a Honda CR-V 2008 ES. I noticed on the test drive that the steering felt a little heavy and whilst not wandering off a straight line it seemed to want to wander slightly. I mentioned this to the seller and I suggested the tyres could be the wrong pressure. This was checked and there was one rear tyre that had been over=inflated. I also suggested it could need the tracking adjusted but the seller didn't have the alignment kit in his garage. The tyres have good tread and are 17 inch. I guess it could also be the state of the roads too and the fact that this is my first Honda CR-V and I'm not used to the tyres which seem big to me. The lo…

Hi all, I've just joined the forum, as I'm on the hunt for yet another Honda. I've always liked them and my wife and I own a 2008 Accord 2.4 EX Auto. (last UK gen) I've owned 7 Honda's in my lifetime, including our current one. I'm looking to change out of my Lexus GS430 as I'm a bit bored of spending half my time at the petrol station (but it's such a good car!) I'll be asking for some advice on here, just get opinions in addition to the test drives I will be doing.

Hi all I'm Irfan from Preston, Lancs. Was wondering if anyone knows a breaker or where I can get (just) the casing for the handbrake. I have a 2010 2.2 i-cdti Civic and have searched the web for a while but can only find full kits for £40 or so on e-bay. I just need the shell as the top inch or so has cracked. Apologies if this has already been posted - anyone experienced or can offer advice on the following : When starting the car, if I press the ignition button on it's own, sometimes it takes a couple of attempts of turning over until the car starts. But if I keep the clutch pressed down and then push the ignition, it starts…

Hi everyone my names Richie. I'm from Co. Wicklow in Ireland and said i'd join to get some information on Honda's and thoughts along my build and read along other peoples builds and any teething issues along the way. I drive a 2007 Accord Type S for a daily driver and an EP3 Type R for a weekend / blow off steam car. I've only got the Type S about a week so since getting this i just added wind deflectors as otherwise its all good and fits my comfort levels for a daily driver. I don't want to take the comfort or fuel economy out of it. The EP3 i have about a year and I've done some work & upgrades already to this one with plenty m…

Hello, I recently purchased an FK2 2011 Honda Civic SI and as a first time Honda owner, I'm looking for ideas from owners of the same or anyone else for that matter to enhance my driving experience and general tips and tricks. Just bought a gear knob and gear gaiter for starters. Looking to add an aftermarket touchscreen for handsfree phone connectivity, navigation, music and possibly reverse view in the future. Any suggestions would be most welcome. I have never done anything like this before but consider myself mechanically inclined and am really looking forward to getting my hands dirty. Great to be here btw. Looking forward to seeing what peoples' Honda jo…

Hi Everyone, My name is Steve from Reading. We have a 130k miles Honda FR-V 2.0 VTEC that we bought as a family runabout 10yrs ago, we have put 70k of those miles on it with little trouble. It is battle-scarred but reliable, and does a great job of towing our small caravan. I do a lot of my own home mechanics apart from big jobs which need a vehicle lift. I was a long time member of the Honda Karma forum but on checking that today found it was closed down, so came here instead.

very grateful to be part of this owners club. I've seen a tidy 2009 Accord 2.2 diesel with just over 100k on the clock well looked after with full SH through Honda. Keen to get others views if I should buy it? I hear there are a isolated accounts of dpf issues (but that can affect all modern diesels i suppose!). If I do proceed, what should I do in the first month of ownership? is there a top 10 list of dos and don'ts? again, thank you for having me join the club.

I wonder if anyone may be able to help? The car is a 2006 1.7 petrol, my daughter said the engine started to make a knocking noise. No oil light came on. We did a check and the piston at the pulley wheel end had movement, suggesting a spun big end bearing. We stripped the bottom out and sure enough the shells had spun. There was no damage or scoring on the other three bearings. We replaced all shell bearings and cleaned up the crank journal and the big ends. We checked the journal diameter and it was within spec. Checked that the oil ways were clear with an extra long pipe cleaner and all was ok. Replaced the oil filter and oil. Rebuilt the bottom end and fired her up, …
