Hi did start a DPF thread on the Accord forum but guessing it probably applies to more than one vehicle in their range. But as I did not get a reply tried to hunt around the net but came up blank so put a complaint into Honda. Did get too escalations but not much joy help wise but thought I would share their reply and my take on it. Probably do this in two parts. first up an overview then tomorrow will try and clarify how the first stage DPF regen works as that really threw me. forgive me if I mess up with any images. Honda’s position on their diesel cars is:- “Please be advised that the Diesel Particulate Filter is an exhaust component which…

  2. Hello everyone, It's a pleasure to be on board. I have a '99 Honda Ballade 150i Luxline automatic. For those unfamiliar with this model from the South African market, it's basically a Civic. My automatic gearbox recently started shifting late, and eventually shifting roughly, and I discovered that the shift solenoid is dead. Unlike the more common engine sizes, the 150i auto only has one shift solenoid on the transmission. It looks different from any of the civic/ballade solenoids I've seen for sale online (I assume these are for different engine sizes). I'm having a tough time finding a replacement and I think it would help to figure out the part …

  3. Hi, We own a 2009 Honda Crv EX 2.2 diesel car for a year now. A couple of months back we've noticed the car battery went dead twice on us so we decided to invest in a new one. To our surprise 2 weeks later the new one went dead too! So we swapped the old battery (thankfully didn't get rid of it!) and charged up the new one (also double checking nothing had been left on inside the car). After 3 days when opening the car door, I strangely saw the sat Nav fascia was stuck half open (like it had a power surge) and low and behold, battery dead again. All becoming a bit like groundhog day now, so decided to get it booked in with the mechanics for the f…

  5. Hello there, I hope you are all well! I live in Dublin and drive a 1977 Honda Civic as my every day car (I mention this as everyone asks). My indicator switch went a year ago and I had an electrical guy fix it, but now it has gone again and I need to replace it or else stick buttons on the dash. I would really like to keep it the way it is! If anyone could help source one or give me an idea of where I could, I would be really grateful! It is my baby!

I need to find a way to replace the key fob on my 1998 Honda Civic. The rubber button on one side has become so worn that all that can be seen is the plastic part underneath. This is hard to reach and becoming more difficult by the day to use. Honda UK says that it's no longer supported, and so they can't get the parts.

Hi - dipping toes in here - new UK owner of 1998 Stepwagon (import) with LPG, 125k miles. So now beginning to learn Honda lore - for example, suspension - mine is full of clonks and the handling is soggy. AFAIK mk1 Stepwagon is related to CR-V and Civic of that era, so I wonder if it's therefore also related to Rover 400. Shopping for suspension parts e.g. on ebay, what models to search for and shd I check out Rover as well? With Honda, is it usual to get new wishbones, links etc, or fit new bushes to existing, and does that require presses or separators? Questions like that - all tips gratefully received.

  9. Hi all, just wondering if anyone can give me some help and advice here as I've tried a few garages so far and gotten nowhere. My engine has some strange/erratic behaviour on light loads - Sometimes it will stutter/Kangaroo before coming to life, other times it will have almost no response to the throttle initially then when you press it a little harder it revs frantically like its running away. This only seems to happen within the first half inch of pedal travel, so what you use when pulling away gently in city driving and slow cruises. At heavier loads i.e. accelerating with more vigour or faster cruises say 50mph+ these faults do not occur. It is only in stop/…

I'm having some trouble with the driver side door lock on my 2003 Civic sedan. When I lock the car using the power door lock, it is quite difficult to get the car key to unlock the driver's side door. The dealer said they could replace the lock cylinder for about $90.00. But I wonder if the problem isn't in the power door locking mechanism. Anybody had similar problems? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a Honda Jazz 2003. The keys are not remote but maybe are worn so much that it will not start the car when inserted in the ignition. The key will open the doors though. How can I overcome the problem, do I have to buy a new ignition steering lock?

  14. Hi, Hoping someone can help a Newbie here 1. The lighter has stopped working on my Elysion - suspect a blown fuse, which would be a nice easy fix if so. Can't figure out though which fuse to replace though - see attached pic. 2. Any know where I can download a English owners manual ? Lots of Japanese options on Google ... not so many in English. Any help on either question would be really appreciated. Thanks.

New CR-V Hybrid delivered in August 2019 with many faults. The main fault is that although the Climate Control functions are recognized by the voice control function, none are not executed. I gather that Honda Europe have been aware of this for a while, but 'forgot' to mention this to prospective purchasers. As I understand it Honda Japan are working on a 'fix' but no one at Honda has been able to give me a date. Additionally, the Audio and temperature controls continually autonomously change their settings. To day the screen said the audio function was not available while the vehicle was in motion! Poor customer relations Honda! I expect a gen…
