I would go with an aftermarket one personally as the standard unit is quite limited on its capabilities and would need upgrading with new SatNav discs/cards An aftermarket unit can run off your phone and is far more versatile (and cheaper)

Thanks for giving feedback on the source of the problem. Not come across that one before, Honda's are normally trouble free with electrics (except A/C relay) so quite surprised about that one

Is there any strange noises when you press the clutch pedal? Just wondered if it could be the clutch dragging ?

I would consult your dealership as the battery may have been sulphated due to sitting around during extended shipping delays, etc Check the date on the battery and insist they rectify any excessive electrical discharge that may be occurring (software updates, etc)

I think in this instance you can upgrade your RAC cover and they will come out to diagnose the fault I would put money on the battery being the culprit, if it has dead cells then a boost pack will not make any difference and replacement is the only option RAC tend to carry batteries which they can sell you so it would be in their interest to visit your home to replace it. Alternatively, Halfords have a home service scheme which may benefit you?

Sorry, serves me right for not reading the title correctly Sometimes, knock sensor signals can become corrupted by electrical interference and a classic one for causing this is stray High Tension lead/coils breaking down and leaking HT into the wiring loom (especially if in the immediate vicinity) Also, check the fuel octane you're using and maybe jump to 98 Super Unleaded to see if this makes a difference on the engine knock

Almost 100% sure the battery condition is poor, probably good enough to start the engine but failing on all the other high consumption ancillary items, such as stop/start Take it to Halfords for a battery test (high discharge test) and if necessary replace with a quality battery they should be able to provide

I guess you could look at it as if one has gone the others probably won't be far behind

What was the lamp and also do you have any information of the fault code generated?

Battery condition at this time of year is favourite for generating fault codes and warning lamps What is the code it generates?

I would say battery health condition is probably the reason for throwing up these codes. Check and replace the battery if weak and this should reset everything

Ah that is just typical its always the last one you come to thats the only one that needed changing...the law according to sod ! If you could upload some photos that would be great as it sounds like it could be a common fault and handy to reference for other members with this issue

Not sure why it wouldn't make a noise in reverse if it were a DMF issue though. The clutch works on a self adjusting 'sliding ramp' system which wears over time and will allow the clutch to slip, not sure if it is the clutch mechanism that is worn but as you say, the only way would be to remove the transmission and see what is going on in there. However, one other thing has occurred to me and that is if it is not on the gearbox side but in fact the front of the engine, e.g. the air conditioning compressor pulley which are prone to breaking up and making a rattling noise or even the crankshaft pulley which can also go the same way.....easy way to check this is to temporarily remove the auxiliary drivebelt and run the engine to see if the noise has disappeared

We are seeing quite a few posts on the subject of Honda economy (or lack of it) Obviously this depends on how the where the car is driven (e.g. extra-urban, around town, etc) and also whether it has a petrol, hybrid or diesel engine, E5 versus E10 petrol, manual or automatic gearbox. Post up your MPG and vehicle details and see if there is a trend occurring or whether it is satisfactory

It does sound very much like the Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is breaking up. If this is the case then you will hear a series of loud 'clunking noises' when switching the engine off and then eventually it will lose drive completely. It may also be the clutch mechanism (self adjusting ramps) if completely worn out, and all of this could be inherited from a previous owners driving style.

That's a great MPG and must be from using faster and quieter roads i imagine?

I think with town driving that the MPG you are achieving is reasonable but would improve it taken on a long fast run every so often and in extra-urban environment it would increase even more

Sometimes it can be a build up of dirt on the sensor(s) but judging by the cold weather we are currently experiencing I would say it may be a frost build up over the sensor. Try cleaning it before setting off next time and see if that makes a difference

Not sure you'll find any translated manuals as not enough of them coming through to the UK
