  1. Car dismantlers such as Silverlakes (which is local to you) may be the only way forward. Worth considering looking at other older Honda models which may share the same handle
  2. yes, thats the button but also believe the one on the instrument panel works as well I think
  3. I would definitely recommend the Honda DFP oil for the rear differential (usually get 2x 1 litre bottles to flush and refill the fluid. Engine oil, ensure it is Honda spec (ACEA) and you can't go wrong
  4. Hi....welcome to the Forum There is a volume setting within the system but cannot remember from memory so you would have to refer to the handbook but it is definitely there
  5. Hi....welcome to the Forum Wow! that's a rare car, especially with that low mileage. I would consider fitting some extra security as there have been several stolen over the past year, even some members on here have had theirs stolen. Good to have you onboard
  6. Hi Arthur.....welcome to the Forum I would suggest that you try looking into the settings on the new unit to see if there is any function to alter control to the steering wheel input. If not then change the wiring around to see if it works differently.
  7. Hi Brigid....welcome to the forum Do you have any photos of it and a rough idea of what she would expect to get for it? Thanks
  8. Hi....welcome to the Forum The clutch has a self adjusting mechanism on it so it is difficult to judge wear like you could do in the old days...so I cannot see how they can justify the clutch being worn by the height of the pedal. As for the display, it may be worth pressing the select button to change the different settings and it may show up in there

  10. Here is a link to Castrols' oil selector site....just enter your registration number and it will tell you which oil to use. https://applications.castrol.com/oilselector/en_gb/c/search
  11. Hi Alan.....welcome to the Forum Thanks for the useful information, certainly makes life easier especially if you are of an age like myself where crawling under the vehicle is getting more difficult over time. Much easier to access through the wheel arch but would need a bunch of rags below to catch the spills. Let us know how you get on with the valves, although i imagine you would need to lift the bonnet to access them 🙂
  12. Hi Jon....welcome to the Forum I would say the garage is correct. What they are referring to is the CanBus electronics within the vehicle and it is possible that the wiring will need changing to a permanent live that isn't controlled by the CanBus. Alternatively, you would need to programme the radio into the vehicle as it is non-standard and the vehicle is rejecting it as it not recognised in the electronic memory. Let us know how you get on with it
  13. Hi....welcome to the Forum Sorry to hear about the theft, I don't think there is a problem with a repeat theft for the Fiesta but if they have the keys for the Honda and know where you live then it would be easy for them to steal it at a later date. I think I would have the security system recoded to change the key access. It will probably cost quite a bit to change but the Insurance should cover it
  14. Hi Dave....welcome to the Forum That's a fine looking Type R, superb condition for the year! Good to have you onboard
  15. Hi....welcome to the Forum I have found that several times before when one family member gets a certain brand of car then the others tend to follow and with Honda reliability its easy to see why this methodology works. Good to have you onboard
  16. Hi....welcome to the Forum I have in the past moved the door seal around just slightly (shuffled along by about an inch or so) and this can give the seal a slightly different profile and may give better sealing.
  17. I don't personally own a smoke generator although I would like one (bit expensive) so would source a local garage that has one
  18. Hi....welcome to the Forum If you can find an old school panel beater they will be able to repair that damage. Trouble is nowadays they are not (in the main) capable of repairing damaged panels or it is not economical for them to repair (as in they don't make quick money out of it). Replacement panels are the only route for most people nowadays but if you can find someone who can heat and beat the dents then respray afterwards the that is what I would do.
  19. Wow! thats a hefty price! I'm sure a good independent garage can sort a replacement at a lot cheaper price
  20. Hi....welcome to the Forum Haven't heard of it being an issue. If the engine is very low miles then until it is completely bedded in the you may get some washdown in the bores and in which case you could use a slightly heavier weight oil until then.
  21. Hi Usman.....welcome to the Forum That's a fine looking machine, surprised the styling didn't carry across onto other UK models. Good to have you onboard
  22. Thanks for the update Paul....at least they're getting there with being able to update through the phone now.
  23. Hard to say from the audio recording, if it is wind noise then you could use a smoke generator to see if there is somewhere the noise is coming in from.
  24. Thanks for sharing this useful information. I think there more you can do to deter a thief the better and by putting as many hurdles in the way the more it will deter them.
