  1. Welcome to what must be the quietest car forum in the UK!
  2. I would take it somewhere else and get a second opinion, I'd also want to know what fault codes were thrown up on a diagnostic.
  3. I've been a member on a Lexus forum for many years and sadly this issue is one of the most common. It's a massive market and most criminals operate in threes, very often with weapons. The whole process only takes 90 seconds. Many owners are having "catlocs" fitted which will deter them as it greatly increases the time it takes to access the cat.
  4. Does this affect certain years? Mine is a 2015 CR-V and is ok.
  5. A good (and cheap) result!
  6. I think everyone would benefit from less time on Facebook!!
  7. About 9 months ago I parted with my JDM Toyota Celsior (2003 Lexus LS) and I really miss the lovely V8!
  8. Isn't technology great...until it isn't!
  9. Always good to have someone with knowledge!
  10. Is your 12v battery in top condition? It's surprising how many areas of a car can be affected by a poor battery.
  11. Presumably you've checked the fuse?
  12. Maybe post the info re cost etc when its done, it may be useful info for someone?
  13. And just out of interest, what year is yours?
  14. What a great design! At least we learned something new. Maybe worth getting the EGR valve cleaned while its off?
  15. Looking at most videos with Hondas they do all seem to go at it from below.
  16. It certainly sounds like a duff thermostat. I've changed many thermostats over the years but as I'm new to Honda I'm not familiar with the location. It seems that Honda hide them lower down than most making them harder to get to. Would you be able to follow the radiator hoses to find its location? One of them will lead to it. In most cases it's the top one....
  17. How long does it take to warm the engine? I've got a 2.2 CR-V and it takes much longer to heat up than most cars that I've had. You should be able to feel if the thermostat is working by the difference in the main radiator hose temperatures. Generally the lower hose will heat up first, followed by the top hose when the thermostat begins to open.
  18. Have you checked the auxiliary belt tensioner? They can cause a rattle if the bearing is on the way out. It'll be worth checking all the other pulley bearings that it drives as well
  19. 👍👍👍
  20. My brother has a Civic and he says it's the best car by far that he has ever owned, and he has certainly owned a few!
  21. If you win, remember me!😁
  22. Because I like driving automatic cars I initially tried an auto petrol CR-V but found it just a bit sluggish so I opted for the diesel with the older 2.2 engine. I may be wrong but I felt the vehicle is just a bit too big for a 1.6 diesel. Also the maintenance, which I mostly do myself, is easier on the 2.2, and it has excellent pulling power. I bet you can't wait til March!
  23. That's a really nice colour, and the kind that always looks good, unlike some colours that seem to age a car quickly. I've never had a Honda until I got the CR-V, which I basically got when we adopted a greyhound, a big boot with lots of headroom!
  24. So no Mohicans in the rear then! Which colour did you opt for? A friend has an HR-V and loves it.
  25. A 60's Corvette is of course the dream!
