Shorter Auxiliary Belt Route to Bypass Aircon Comp

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 2005 2.2 CTDI and I suspect that the aircon compressor is failing.

I am thinking of simply bypassing air con with a shorter belt and am wondering in anyone has had any experience with this  or can advise on required belt length, etc

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi....welcome to the Forum

Sometimes the compressor pulley fails and breaks up.
A good way around it is as you suggest, bypassing it with a shorter belt.
Maybe a trip to a local motor factors if you could roughly measure (with some string) around the pulleys you want to use and then finding the closest ones to it

Good luck and let us know how you get on with it.
