Glyn John
Hi all, new member here. Have any of you had an MOT failure for rear nearside passenger seat having too much play in the upright position? Have owned the car for 6 years and not used the fold down function at all, same MOT station too.
Trevor
The seat shouldn't be an issue unless it is vastly different to the seat the other side. The seatbelt is secured to the floor and that is what is retaining the passenger but the seat back should also be secure so maybe not latched in properly? Glyn John
Thanks Trevor, the seat back has about an inch of play when latched. Mot tester has stated this is a dangerous fault and car should not be driven till fixed. I am about to take it apart to find the cause.
