West Country Honda Man
Hello, I am a new user and this is my first post. I have a 2002 Honda Civic 1.6 and the handbrake needs fixing, it is the unit that needs replacing. My garage says Honda no longer supply this part and are unable to obtain it from a dealer. They sourced the part on Ebay twice, only to find it is the wrong handbrake. It seems Honda have made at least two versions and the brackets that need to be attached are different to the ones I need (see attached photos of my hand brake). There appears to be no suitable handbrakes on Ebay. I found one that looked suitable but it is for a 1.4 Honda. My garage has a call out to the various scrap places but sill no luck. I am faced with the prospect of scrapping, what has been a reliable car with low mileage, simply because of the inability to procure a handbrake! Can anyone help please? Thanks.
