Just saying hello. Currently own a 2006 Honda CR-V that have owned for the best part of 6 years now. Been one of the most useful cars we have owned. Original owner ticked pretty much all the options that were available back when it was new so it has some quite rare options fitted which gives it the look that first attracted me to it. Over the years its been a reliable car with it having a couple of issues over the years. In fairness to the car only one of the issues was the cars fault & the other issues it has had were down to circumstances. Luckily I know my way around a toolbox so sorting the problems wasn't a issue especi…

Hi. I'm totally new to Hondas but I was impressed by what I read about the Mark 8 Civic on Parkers Guide when looking for a car for mainly commuting to work and back and the odd trip to the coast. I'm looking to purchase one in the next few weeks and wondered whether there is anything I should look out for when going to see one, inherent faults, best engine, best spec etc? My commute is 13 miles round trip each day, is diesel best or petrol? I'd love an automatic but Parker's said that it was not very good, is that true? Anything that could help me find the right Civic would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

I wonder if anyone may be able to help? The car is a 2006 1.7 petrol, my daughter said the engine started to make a knocking noise. No oil light came on. We did a check and the piston at the pulley wheel end had movement, suggesting a spun big end bearing. We stripped the bottom out and sure enough the shells had spun. There was no damage or scoring on the other three bearings. We replaced all shell bearings and cleaned up the crank journal and the big ends. We checked the journal diameter and it was within spec. Checked that the oil ways were clear with an extra long pipe cleaner and all was ok. Replaced the oil filter and oil. Rebuilt the bottom end and fired her up, …

Hi all, New member,. I am new to Hondas but have been playing with cars and motorcycles for a lot of years. I live in Spain but have a UK RHD, Spanish registered, Accord 2001 2.0 Vtec (F20B6). I will have a few questions but will be asking them in the correct forum for the vehicle, rather than turning my introduction into a question fest!

I have just purchased an immaculate 2 owner 1985 Accord with just 24k miles on the clock. I was just wondering exactly how rare it is in the UK, the website how many left doesnt seem to know. I did see a web page saying around 3 left, (honest Johns). Anyway, just thought I would shout about it !!

Hi Trever Thanks for the reply, sorry I've been away for a bit, but things are slowly but surly getting back to some sort of normality and my days are getting fuller. I agree with your observation about the gadgets in the car, but I have worked my way through the owners manual, and have just about sorted them all out !! I have also downloaded the 'Honda e' app on my phone, and added the extras, 'O.K. Honda' etc., (Very useful). You can locate the car anywhere, and perform certain functions like locking or unlocking the doors, and sound the horn to find it in a multi story carpark or large parking area. Neil

Hi All, My name is Alan I have become the proud owner of my late Uncles Honda Accord Executive A, 2.4 petrol 2004. I am trying to source a sunroof rubber seal for this car, as it has started to weather. My Uncle used to have it parked outside and before the seal starts to leak, I would like to replace it. I have had a quote from Honda for over £1000, to replace the glass and seal, all I need is the seal. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks Alan

Hi, Just sold our 2002 Jazz and bought a 2015/14 CR-V. I say 2015/14 because although it's a 2015 plate, it's not the facelifted version. Bought the car yesterday, the wheel nearly fell off today! The mechanics at the dealers who replaced the brakes appear to have become distracted when tightening up the passenger-side front wheel. Fortunately, the RAC man was able to identify the cause of the strange - and increasing - rumbling and fixed it in time. Thomas

Hi, l have just joined this club, because of my very recent purchase of an HR-V 1.6 automatic 2002. 3 door. I live in Stoke On Trent, am in my late 60s,s and am disabled, but still able to drive, which I still enjoy. If I say so myself I was a good amateur mechanic, but alas the mind is still willing, but the body is no longer able to juggle the spanners, and to be truthful I do miss it. I have never owned a Honda before, but can say I am amazed at how well this car drives, being smooth, and very responsive for a 22-year-old. So hello all, I will be asking some questions, but I also very much hope I may be able to help othe…

bought the 2017 hr-v , and pleased with my purchase , my wife though misses the extra oomph that the turbo gave on the previous car. We do not like much the hrv sport , and as a long shot what would the fitting of a turbo to our car cost, and is it a viable proposition. Anybody got an opinion on this>?.
