Hi Guys, I recently purchased a Honda Civic 2005, 1.6 Engine, Petrol. It had its timing belt changed in 2014 at 49300 miles. 6 years later its done around 55000 miles. Do I need to change the timing belt, or can I continue using it as is?

Hi, I have loud squeeling coming from my car, It looks like the drive belt. I wanted to ask how hard it is to change yourself? I am training to be a mechanic but I am only 3 months into that. Is this something I should take on myself and how difficult is it? tia

Hi there, Well Basically I cleaned the front of the headlights today but I noticed a fair bit of moisture inside the light. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop moisture from getting in? I don't have a problem taking them off. I will probably do it tomorrow as I have a 160 mile night trip to do. I read somewhere that you can take it out and fill it with water to see where water is getting in? I don't really want to but new lights if possible. Also I have a puddle under my spare wheel in the boot. It's quite a lot of water in there. Is it probably the boot seal? tia

Hi All, I have got a Honda Civic 1.7CDTI 2005 and was wondering if anyone else has been able to fit LED headlight bulbs to the car. The current bulbs are HB4 9006, i did buy a cheap set the once but they didnt seem to fit as it was too long. When the bulb went in as it hit the front of the where it is housed in the headlight it would go off because of it touching?

  10. Hello, I'm new to this community but have a very strange issue and really hope someone can shed some light as it's driving me mad. When the rear seat belts are fully extended and the mechanism starts winding them up, it doesn't release until the seat belt is completely retracted if that makes sense. My wife is pregnant atm and needs a bit more seat belt when sitting in the back but when she pulls it a bit more It reaches a point where the mechanism starts making this clicking sound while retracting and it can only go in one direction, it no longer releases until it's completely retracted. The only option is to unbuckle it, let it wind up completely and then pu…

I noticed that water is dripping from the bottom of my car underneath, is this from the air conditioning or is it something to worry about and get checked out?

Hi all, First post, so hopefully I have all the information you require. Thanks in advance for your help! Car - Honda Civic 2002 1.6 SE Executive 5 doors Auto 4 Speed Problem - Fobs not working to remotely conduct central locking (set or unlock car). Previously worked fine. What have I done so far - Replaced batteries in original fob, no change. Replaced fobs and tried to reprogramme, went through process but does not activate or no clicking when clicking the fob (i.e. it doesn't seem to get into the reprogramming stage). Replaced fuses including 50A one (content to try again if suggested!), no change. Replaced receiving unit, no change. I can unlock all of th…

Hi, I have a Civic 1.4 2006. Recently changed the car battery and ever since the car alarm keeps going off. It's so annoying!! I've had to isolate the positive terminal of the battery as it was waking up the neighbours at night. Does anyone know of how to resolve this issue? How to reset or fix it? Would appreciate any help! Hey guys I have a really low budget at the moment of about £1500 and I needed a quick run around/work horse for local city driving and shopping. Car prices at the moment are crazy and I have been struggling to find anything I think would last me 12 months, I found the following car on facebook marketplace that I am interested in, the car is: MODEL: HONDA CIVIC (COUPE) ENGINE SIZE: 1.6 TRANSMISSION: AUTOMATIC FUEL TYPE: PETROL YEAR: 2003 MILEAGE: 96,000 MILES I am not a mechanic and have very basic knowledge about cars if any. I know oil leaks are usually a instant no go.. the engine cap having a mayo like substance usually …

Hi. A few weeks back my car developed a fault with an immobiliser. I drove the car regularly and the battery never went flat. Overnight my car developed the following fault. In the morning my fob could not open the car I used the key on the driver's side and it opened the driver's side door only. Curtsy light remained off even when I opened the door. When I turn the key in the ignition to position all control lamps were on and off as usual apart from green key flashing. If I try to start the car I can hear the starter motor cranking the engine but the engine would not start. I called in the locksmith and sadly he informed me that the immobiliser failed to communicate and …

04 Type S 2.0 L 5 door. Original radio/CD player. Does anyone know if there is an 'AUX' input on the back? If so it may be worth me taking the unit out so I can arrange connection of external devices such as phone/MP3 player etc. If not....and given that half the dash and probably the engine, have to come out to allow radio removal..maybe not worth the bother...

  21. **** Disclaimer this is LONG, and probably boring. Skip to last paragraphs for key Questions **** Let's start by pre-facing this with "basically I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm learning......." Car failed MOT (UK) for split CV boots. I had some brand-new drive shafts in the garage (can't recall why), so I figured I would just swap the shafts over. I'm working on the ground as it were with the car upon stands. I'm ok with brakes etc so stripped it all down, popped off hub nuts etc and (eventually) popped the old shafts out......... This is where the fun begins! Didn't realise aligning and fully locking a new driveshaft in could be such a…

Hi First time posting on the forum. All help appreciated. A lovely toe rag smashed off the passenger mirror on my 03 civic. I bought a replacement on ebay and have tried to fit it today without success. The three bolts on the replacement mirror don't line up with the holes in the door frame so I can't fix it in place. The 2 x bottom bolts go through, the top one however in the "triangle" is about an inch away. I'd checked the part number on the underside of the replacement mirror and my intact driver side mirror. Both are 010672. As well as the top bolts being in different places, it looks like the plastic triangular fascia that should sit flush on the outside…
