Must have usual positive attributes e.g. low mileage, one owner etc. Towbar would be an asset too.

Hi all,new member here. I own a 2011 Honda CRV 2.2 idtec diesel. I love the car to bits but have recently have a problem with a split EGR pipe (quite a common fault apparently). Before spending a small fortune getting it repaired I wondered if any members have gone down the ERG delete route and did it work ok? I have read that deleting the EGR can generally improve performance. Im,e ok to fit the blanking plate myself but will have to find a tuner to delete the system in the cars ECU. I think I read online that the ECU program couldn,t be deleted ..hence the enquiry. This looks a very knowledgeable forum so fingers crossed one of…

Hi Guys Following on from my Topic regarding new tyres for my 2008 Mk3 Honda CRV Exec 4 + 4. I have finally decided to bite the bullet and have four new Royal Black Sport 225/60R18 Tyres fitted this week. Its a minefield trying to choose which tyres are suitable for your Vehicle, how you want to use them and Tyre Value as everyone appears to have a different preference on the choice of tyre they want. I chose the Royal Black Sport as its suits the purpose and requirements that I personally need for my motoring journeys. They are a good priced tyre at £ 81.98 each including vat, fitting and balancing and I was convinced after seeing the Google revi…

I picked up my first ever Honda two weeks ago - 2016 1.6 idtec EX. I have noticed that there is a clutch judder when pulling away or if moving slowly in traffic. My last 4 cars have been auto boxes so I first thought it may be my driving style but after a few days I got my son to try it and he too felt that the clutch didn’t feel right. I took it back to the dealer (main Honda franchise) who I bought it from and said I thought there was an issue with the clutch. They tested it and said there was a “slight” judder on clutch engagement but it was “within acceptable limits”. They also stated that it is typical for a CR-V due to the design of the clutch and DMF so conseque…

The key objective for comfortable, economical, and safe driving is ‘smoothness’: the absence of sudden or rapid changes in speed or direction. Smooth driving will also reduce the loading and wear on a car’s suspension, brakes, tyres, and drive train. The car’s intelligent sensing functions can be very helpful, but they are far from perfect and left to themselves they will not always provide a smooth drive. This then, is the intelligent driver’s challenge: to anticipate when the sensing functions will not be helpful and cancel/reset them as appropriate. In free-flowing traffic, use ACC in Normal/Econ mode*, set the target speed at what would be…

Just checked my 2008 mK3 CRV on the Government Website to find out if it is Dreaded ULEZ Compliant, Thankfully it is, Its worth checking Folks because even if you do not go to London, They have proposed that it is going to be rolled out across other Counties and Cities in the near future, another Money Spinner from the Motorist, 🤑 Worth checking out now just put your Reg Number in to find out if yours is compliant. We have a 2010 Honda Stepwagon RK5 with intermittent ignition issues. At key turn there’s always power, but sometimes it starts and sometimes it’s dead. The starter is fine and the local mechanic has changed the ignition switch to see if that’s the problem. He suggested it was wear on the key as depending on how the key is pressured when you turn it has an impact on whether it starts. I disagree with this because the issue is the same with both keys, and they both worked fine before this started happening. Is this likely to be an ignition barrel issue? Any other thoughts on diagnosis?

Honda Civic Hatchback 1.6 Diesel 2015 - 117,000 miles Over a year ago the EML came on and the car went into limp home. My garage said the code was showing a P0401. He put fuel cleaner additive in the tank, reset the code, and told me to drive the car at a steady 4000 revs on the dual carriageway. This sorted the problem out for a month or two before the light came back on. He did the same as before and again this sorted the problem out for another month or two. On the third occasion he said that it is probably a sticking EGR valve but at £900 cost he decided to have the car in and clean the EGR. This time we took the car to Northern Ireland and drove about 800 miles…

I have been tinkering about today with the CRV and thought I would remove the Thurle Roof Rack as shown on my Profile, I don't use it all of the time and I have noticed that it does cause some wind noise when driving, My Daughter mentioned this when driving on the Bournemouth Spur Road at the Weekend, also of cause I probably think it doesnt help the fuel economy , So off it has come and packed away neatly in the Shed until I require it in future, I have put all the nuts and bolts in plastic bags so I can find them when I need to refit the Roof Rack. so another job done !!!

Hi All I am considering fitting Four new Tyres on my 4 wheel Drive 2008 Mk 3 CRV and having done a fair bit of research on the type of Tyre I might need as I don't do an excessive mileage I have found Royal Black Sport Tyres being sold by the RAC for my type of vehicle which on the face of it conforms to all I need including the Road Holding and Safety aspect and has got some good reviews on all the Websites, Sure I could go for the more expensive make of tyre but this may be false economy based on the reviews for the Royal Black Sports Tyres, Not being a Car Tyre Professional If any one has had any experience with these Tyres I would appreciate a practic…

Hi Guys & Gals Just bought a Front and Rear View Dash Cam for the CRV and thought I would have a go at fitting it this week, It is not an easy job as some might suggest with havin to tuck the wiring neatly away out of sight in the bodywork panels and making sure all is as covert as possible, I have plugged the power lead into the Cigarette Lighter socket for the time being until I can sort out which fuse I will and can connect it to on a permanent basis, It works fine but one thing to watch out for when feeding the power cable through is that you don't get it caught on any sharp objects, as I did with the result I cut through the cable and it cost me some extra t…

How should a diesel car be driven? Over the years by various 'esperts' I've been told to get the best and a long life from them drive them hard all the time others have said softly softly and still other softly most of the time but give them a good hard drive sometimes to clean the pipes out. So which is right please.

Dishonourable, insane HONDA? Judge for yourself... My 2019 Jazz developed a fault with selecting gears after 2.5K miles of use from new. Under warranty my local Honda garage attempted repairs. They attempted repairs for the same fault on six separate occasions. The car was evaluated each time by Hondas technicians, judged to be faulty and taken in by the garage for investigation and repair. On at least two separate occasions replacement parts were fitted to the vehicle including a new sleeve set synchronizer, case comp transmission, case comp clutch, bearings, oil seals etc. The repairs were billed to Honda UK (Warranty) and totalled £2,316.92. All the six times the …

A little Tip for dried out rubber gromets or window seals, a good size can of Halfords Silicone Spray for £ 4.99 does the trick and worth giving rubber seals a good spray in this hot weather when the rubber does tend to dry out and could deteriorate more quickly and also a good lubricant for other car parts except of course Brake parts or Steering assembly which should be common sense not to use any lubricant on. other than that, follow the instructions on the can and get rid of those nasty squeaks as well on the car. Best Wishes BAZZER RN 1

Hi All I have noticed lately that my Crv has developed a squeal when depressing the Clutch Pedal, Had a good look through other Honda Owners comments on this and apparently it can be a problem on some Hondas, The clutch is operating fine, so located the Clutch Slave Cylinder and gave it good dose of WD40 and some 3 in 1 around the rubber seals and the slave cylinder piston, okay its not the same as removing the piston and doing a proper job, but the squealing noise has stopped , and a relief not to get this noise every time, I will let others know the outcome. Have a good weekend Guys & Gals BAZZER RN 1
