The key objective for comfortable, economical, and safe driving is ‘smoothness’: the absence of sudden or rapid changes in speed or direction. Smooth driving will also reduce the loading and wear on a car’s suspension, brakes, tyres, and drive train. The car’s intelligent sensing functions can be very helpful, but they are far from perfect and left to themselves they will not always provide a smooth drive. This then, is the intelligent driver’s challenge: to anticipate when the sensing functions will not be helpful and cancel/reset them as appropriate. In free-flowing traffic, use ACC in Normal/Econ mode*, set the target speed at what would be…

I have a 2017 HONDA HR-V BLACK EDITION I-DTEC 120 (1.6cc) & have ongoing issues with the idle stop and wondering if this is a common problem? Over the past 2 years it’s been in the Garage at least 6 times for the same issue or issues relating to the idle stop and is booked back into garage agin tomorrow. The idle stop works for so long (anything from a few days to max 6 months) and then randomly stops working with a dash warning showing low battery charge. It was last in the garage 2 weeks ago when they again charged the battery overnight, fault again seemed to be rectified but 10 days & 300 miles later the same issue. On some occasions the fault appears to rec…

Hi. I a new member. Just changed my wife's great but ageing 2.0 Civic Sport for a 2006 Jazz which has the N/S door mirror hanging off. The stumpy bit is still attached to the door by 3 10mm nuts but the mirror housing itself has some broken fragments of plastic round the bottom, held in with 3 small screws, and the whole lot appears to have been held together with a large amount of black caulk. I can't see any pictures on line of what it should look like to start a repair so wonder if anyone can help please. Otherwise I'll have to dismantle the O/S mirror to see what is inside it and I 'd prefer not to have to do that in case it is fragile and goes the same way as the ot…

Anyone know where I can obtain a matt black cover to prevent sunshine glare from the shiny dash reflecting glare on the windscreen? Also, do Honda offer an aftrrmarket catalytic conveter protection cage? I gather Honda cars are espeiecially prone to having their cats stolen... or maybe a specialist company alternative supplier?

Hi, looking for some advice/suggestions regarding transmission power loss. I have a 2008 2.2 cdti 6MT car which is due to have front struts & drop links replaced, however after just completing a 400 mile round trip, I became aware of a potentially more serious issue which may nullify the suspension fixes. The car seems to struggle, I can shift gears without issue but depressing the accelerator while raising the engine revs does not seem to translate to increased acceleration. Also noted that when the car encountered a change in load ( eg going up a hill ) , depressing the accelerator pedal, I can hear the engine revving but the car seems to struggle - it eventually ge…

Hi all you lovely CRV Members, I am a little disappointed with the response received when a Member asks for some help or advice on a subject or problem they are having with their Honda CRV, I have asked a few questions being new to the Honda Mark and usually the only response I receive is from an Administrator ,which is always appreciated, but look how many others have asked for help and very rarely do they get an answer or at least an educated guess at what the answer might be. I thought I would mention this after looking at how many unanswered question their appears to be on the Forum. So unfortunately I have now resorted to having go to the expensive Main Dealer …

Hi a strange one here but I can’t find my key anywhere, I’ve had the house upside down. Could it be in my boot? It’s locked but I thought all the doors had to be closed for it to lock? Is it possible I have pressed lock on the key while the boot was open getting my stuff and left it in there when closing the boot? I’m baffled

Hi everyone. I have just joined the forum to see if I am just unlucky! I have a Jazz Sport that is only 10 months old. So far.... , the stop start system has failed and has to be reset by the dealer. a brand new clutch fitted as the one out of the factory was slipping badly as it was covered in grease, now the infotainment system has completely failed and I am waiting a new one. my dealer is very embarrassed by these faults and I am losing faith in the car. anyone else had such issues? Should I just cut my losses and sell up? Did not think Friday cars were possible these days!! thanks for any advice …

I was recently contacted by a music producer, who heard I had a few Skylines. They wished to use one on an upcoming Music video they were filming for an upcoming artist called 'Ragz Originale' Shameless Selfie ! It was a fun couple of days up in a London Studio, lots of special effects. I have noooo idea what the end video is going to look like, as each seat was filmed out of order ! Very excited to see the end result. Some special effects and lighting added to the car for a more futuristic look. Music video will be out end of March 2018 ish, we are really excited Loads more photos of the Ragz Originale …

Its around four weeks since I had the 4 mismatched tryes replaced on my CRV and the difference is noticeable on the ride and steering. I've used Avon before on my transits and been happy with them so when I was offered 4 at a very good price I went for it. Think they thought I was mad as the old tryes had plenty of tread left but I hated having 4 difference make of tyres and the price won't come again!!

I've been reading around, and I'm getting a general sense that for some reason the 1.5 is just as economical, if not, more economical at motorway speeds compared to the 1 litre version? However there are oil diultion issues with the 1.5 litre engines isn't there (or does this not affect 2018+ models)? Or is that just a problem with very cold countries? It looks like Honda has stopped the 1.5 litre production for now as I went to their website and the 1.5 litre engine option is now greyed out across all the civic range? Also keen to get one in black so it looks clean (I think it hides the fake vents and stuff).

Hi all I would like to pose a question to the group. We have a CRV on 3 year lease hire which is due to expire on 8/6/11. We have been discussing a replacement with our local dealer for some time, certainly before the Japanese disaster. Not unexpectedly deliveries on the CRV we want have gone out of the window and it may even be August before we see a car. So what to do about the current one?. Our Honda dealer says we can continue to pay the monthly hire charge (we are ok on that) but he also wants us to pay for an MOT and a service for a car that we might only have for a few weeks. This doesn't seem fair to us. What do others think Chris Redwingtwo

Recently I had a bad experience. I bought a 2017 10th Gen Honda Civic. The car is excellent. However afte 6 months I saw some warning light came on dashboard regarding break later it disappeared. After couple of days I saw all the warning lights came on. The warning lights went off whilst I was driving to dealer garage. They said it could low voltage problem. After couple of days all the warning lights came on again. I took it to garage on 21 May, 2021 the said the fixed it and also asked fro some parts to be replaced. again within a week I saw my break is ceasing and all the warning light was also on all together. This time they said I have to wait for the parts and no…
