I didn't notice the red oil light come on and ran my CRV for 15 miles. Now on the key it makes an awful noise. Thought I'd mention this here in the off chance that someon might find it useful before it goes to the breakers next week (after calling them I am looking for £300, or more!). It has been well used, ie. lots of scratches on the corners, a broken door mirror and the back seats are out, but available MOT to August, was running great until the sudden oil loss, tow bar, Honda roof bars

Hi, this question relates to a 2003 Honda CRV Initial apologies as this question, in various forms has appeared before but I have tried all the solutions suggested. Occasionally I have had to change the battery and once reconnected I have all sorts of issues with the alarm going off. Normally I have found that messing with various things like using and holding the key in the door lock causes the frequency of the alarm going off to decrease till once the intervals exceed 2 min, then the alarm stop completely. Currently, after replacing the battery, the alarm only goes off if I lock the door (using either the key or the fob). Leave it unlocked and it’s fine. …

When I bought my CR-V, the rear wash did not deliver water to the rear screen. The wiper works fine. I set about it one day and pulled the screenwash through by suction. I reconnected the washer pipe and it produced a lovely jet down the rear screen. I tried it a few times in the following days and it was great. However, with the dry spell we're having at the moment, I haven't had to use the rear wash. I tried it again a few days ago as the rear screen was a bit dusty, and nothing, just an occasional drip. Can anyone give me an idea why the screenwash keeps disappearing and will not pump up again please? It's very annoying rather than life threatening. Thanks in adva…

Initially the master cylinder flange bolt broke off when I pushed in the clutch stopping at a light. I replaced both master and slave even though they had been replaced a year and half before. Although the shop put the clutch slave pin in the wrong way with the rounded end inside the cylinder. I'm not sure if this is what caused the master to blow. I ended up replacing the metal tube/line from the slave cylinder because I bent it trying to tighten the connection in the top of the slave. Now I've bleed the system with a gravity kit I hooked up to the slave. I got my kid to pump the clutch with the bleeder valve closed then opened with pedal to the floor. I did this sever…

Have a new, to me, CR-V - but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the interior lights to come on when the front doors open. There are just two switches, right and left, on the interior light - and they just turn the individual lights on and off; and if you leave them switehed on they drain the battery. C'mon, I'm missing something here. Will someobody please help me? cheers, Barrie

Hi everyone New member here, hello! I have purchased this car to be a farm run around in a field, pulling a trailer, roller etc. The car is 4WD (a key requirement for me when buying) but this appears to be ‘automatic’ rather than engaged through any controls on the dash. On its first outing the car got stuck in a muddy field very quickly and it was not easy to get it out as it got stuck every time it was freed again until it was virtually back out the field. I had done some research before buying and saw people off road with their CRVs and some very steep hills so I am disappointed with my experience to date. Have joined the forum to underst…

I hope someone can please help me as I'm running out of ideas. My Diesel has a whirring noise in time with the engine revs. It still does it with the drivebelt removed. It's not the turbo . With a stethoscope the noise is definitely coming from the region of the egr cooling valve, but the valve has no rotating parts. It also has pressure when the oil cap is removed but nothing from the dipstick hole. It runs perfectly and doesn't smoke. . The injector washers have been changed. Any suggestions gratefully accepted thanks

Hi, we have got a 2006 diesel Honda CRV, which has been in the garage since Christmas! It has totally baffled them, engine management light wont go off and it keeps going into limp mode. ECU unit has been sent off twice but no fault codes showing up, mechanic has changed loads of bits and done everything he can think of that would be causing the problem but still nothing, he has spoken to Honda several times but still not working. Wondering if trying a new engine wiring loom would help but they seem to be hard to get hold of. If anyone knows of one that would be great. The product number of the one we are looking for is 32110-rma-eo03.

We have a 2006 crv and we can't silence the alarm even with the engine running. I'm wanting to know where the alarm sounder is or if there is a fuse that can be removed to shut the thing up.

I left the lights on on my 2006 CRV petrol manual and flattened the battery. I took the battery out and recharged it. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went off almost continuously but didnt go off when I plipped the key fob and in fact nothing seemed to turn the alarm off, manual locking and unlocking doors, operating central locking manually or by key fob etc and the alarm carried on going for 20 mins or so. I could start and drive the car so the immobiliser wasnt acting. The alarm would then stop and restart every 10 mins or so untill I disconnected the battery. on reconnecting the alarm would go off at random times even whilst driving?? It has settled down a bit …

I have a broken key fob. The metal shaft wobbles about in the plastic part and we have held it together with tape. Honda want over £200 for total new key. Timpson's want £50 for repair. Ebay £12. Advertised as 433 Mhz ID 48 chip (don't know what that means) I have watched vids on the DIY approach and does not seem above my capabilities. Opinions on the way to go please. Thank you

Anyone had their cat stolen recently? I have so I tried this. Unbolt the bottom bolt on the nudge bars and lower them and drill new holes in the support brackets then bolt in new position. Thief can no longer get under vehicle. Then purchase a 120db PIR detector (cheap) and attach it anywhere underneath with magnetic strip so if thief jacks up car and goes underneath it will go off and scare them off. Cheaper than a new cat

Hi, I bought a new catalytic converter (this one: https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/car-parts/exhausts/exhausts/bmcatscatalyticconvertertypeapprovedbm91585h-detail) and the mechanic told me it fits but sensor positions do not match, he added that this might make the sensor readings off and that I should get a different one. Has anyone had a similar situation? I was recommended this catalytic converter (BM) brand and I am not sure if I should get a different converter or just fit this one. Many thanks

Hi All, I have a 06 CR-V CDTi, which is awesome, and I love it. It has however developed a problem. I put the key in the ignition and the lights come on the dashboard , but not the EML and coil light. Turn it off and on again , sometimes many times , and eventually they come on ,and then you can start it. its really bugging me. Could it be the Key code reader or Immobilizer . HELP PLEASE!

I'm trying to fault find a 2006 RD9 2.2 Diesel CR-V. Intermittent crank no start. When working (i.e. crank and start) ignition is switched on a range of lights illuminate on the dash, including EML and Glow-plug light. After 2 seconds, glow plug and EML go out. Turn key to start, Engine cranks and starts. When not working (i.e. crank no start) ignition is switched on a range of lights illuminate on the dash excluding EML and Glow-plug light. From this initial position, if I turn key to start, engine will crank but not start. Turning ignition off and back on again repeatedly (1-25 times) will eventually see the correct EML and glow plug light briefly illuminate a…

Hi, any advice on how to solve this would be much appreciated, as I imagine it will cost me a few quid to sort it. Brief synopsis: The car is an 11 reg plate and as one who drives around loads with the job I was getting sick of road layouts being different in reality to what the sat nav still thought. I purchased a newer disc (eBay, sorry!) and it worked fine for quite some time. It then began to produce an error and told me to contact the manufacturer. As that wasn't expensive I don't mind binning it (I thought!) and took it out and replaced it with the original, which had caused no issues other than being a decade out of date. However…
