Hi all, new member here. Have any of you had an MOT failure for rear nearside passenger seat having too much play in the upright position? Have owned the car for 6 years and not used the fold down function at all, same MOT station too.

Hi All i am hoping someone can help me. i have an 06 MK11 CRV 2.2 CDTI it has recently developed a knocking noise on the front which i am unable to find the source of nothing cam up on the MOT and i asked them to look hard this isn't the most worrying thing though. When accelerating especially in second i get a strange vibration/wobble coming up through the car. It seems to be when the car is in the power band as the turbo comes on for example. Does the CRV suffer from drive shaft issues or prop bushes? The vibration was defiantly more noticeable when towing. i had the clutch and fly wheel replaced just over a year ago at Honda so i am hoping that it wouldn't…

Hi everyone, I am a new UK owner as of today, and picked up a mk.2 CR-V 2005 facelift with 118k on the clock and in good mechanical condition. The price was cheap (£1500). However, underneath it is looking a bit sad. The car has been coated with some kind of waxoyl-like substance but it is hiding rust, which is now coming through in places. I have taken a video of the worst areas, please watch: https://youtu.be/s-y-HvzHw18 No metal is falling off yet, just the coating. I'm not sure how bad it is structurally speaking. The car has MOT until end of March, and the entire MOT history is almost perfect - no mention of any corrosion at …

Initially the master cylinder flange bolt broke off when I pushed in the clutch stopping at a light. I replaced both master and slave even though they had been replaced a year and half before. Although the shop put the clutch slave pin in the wrong way with the rounded end inside the cylinder. I'm not sure if this is what caused the master to blow. I ended up replacing the metal tube/line from the slave cylinder because I bent it trying to tighten the connection in the top of the slave. Now I've bleed the system with a gravity kit I hooked up to the slave. I got my kid to pump the clutch with the bleeder valve closed then opened with pedal to the floor. I did this sever…

Hi, we have got a 2006 diesel Honda CRV, which has been in the garage since Christmas! It has totally baffled them, engine management light wont go off and it keeps going into limp mode. ECU unit has been sent off twice but no fault codes showing up, mechanic has changed loads of bits and done everything he can think of that would be causing the problem but still nothing, he has spoken to Honda several times but still not working. Wondering if trying a new engine wiring loom would help but they seem to be hard to get hold of. If anyone knows of one that would be great. The product number of the one we are looking for is 32110-rma-eo03.

Can anyone recommend a good after market source for clutch master/slave cylinders. I suspect the parts Ive used could be sub standard due to some ongoing issues. Seems to be a lot of different makes available with varied prices?

Hello I have just purchased a new Kenwood DAB radio which comes with a windscreen mounted aerial. I have a 2005 CR-V with the side curtain airbags installed in the front a-pillar. I need to remove the pillar cover to install the aerial. I have looked online and cant seem to find much info on how, and if its safe, to remove it. In the Haynes manual it says any panels with a clip with airbag printed on it should only be removed by an Honda mechanic! I have attached a couple of pictures of the said panel. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards

Members Very sad to have to let my CRV go. Petrol, auto, 2002 183,000 miles £250, been in the family from new..The cat was cut out/stolen while parked. Most times she passed her MOT first time and very sad to see her go. No MOT and not taxed. She would need to be towed or put on a trailer. Location Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

Hi all, I have a leak in the power steering hose of my CRV MK2 2.2 Diesel 2005-2006 RHD. Please see the attached image for where it is leaking and image of what the whole part looks like. I took my car to the garage and they couldn't get any genuine replacement parts so they wouldn't fix it. I have been looking online but I can only see replacements for either 2007 Honda's, 2006 Petrol or LHD 2006 diesels, but non for my model. Does anyone know where I can get an exact replacement part or another model that will fit or how to fix the hose? Otherwise my only other option is for me to go the wreckers. Thanks.

When I bought my CR-V, the rear wash did not deliver water to the rear screen. The wiper works fine. I set about it one day and pulled the screenwash through by suction. I reconnected the washer pipe and it produced a lovely jet down the rear screen. I tried it a few times in the following days and it was great. However, with the dry spell we're having at the moment, I haven't had to use the rear wash. I tried it again a few days ago as the rear screen was a bit dusty, and nothing, just an occasional drip. Can anyone give me an idea why the screenwash keeps disappearing and will not pump up again please? It's very annoying rather than life threatening. Thanks in adva…

This forum seems to have very few posts and most of what's here, seems to be old. Is this because Hondas are so reliable, folk don't ever have to work on them? Thank you! J.

I hope someone can please help me as I'm running out of ideas. My Diesel has a whirring noise in time with the engine revs. It still does it with the drivebelt removed. It's not the turbo . With a stethoscope the noise is definitely coming from the region of the egr cooling valve, but the valve has no rotating parts. It also has pressure when the oil cap is removed but nothing from the dipstick hole. It runs perfectly and doesn't smoke. . The injector washers have been changed. Any suggestions gratefully accepted thanks

Anyone had their cat stolen recently? I have so I tried this. Unbolt the bottom bolt on the nudge bars and lower them and drill new holes in the support brackets then bolt in new position. Thief can no longer get under vehicle. Then purchase a 120db PIR detector (cheap) and attach it anywhere underneath with magnetic strip so if thief jacks up car and goes underneath it will go off and scare them off. Cheaper than a new cat

Hi guys (and gals). A familiar tale that I suspect has had many posts. My wife’s much loved battered 2003 run around, bought for £1,000, a veteran of numerous trips to the dump and the only car I will park in a supermarket car park had I think made its last journey. Currently sat on the drive (fortunately) but the key will not turn in the ignition. Prevailing view from local garage and RAC is the lock is buggered and quote for a new lock and assembly is £1,000. I did actually, with a squirt of WD40 get the key to turn and fired up the car. Proudly told my wife that I still had the skills but next morning same problem and this time even WD40 wouldn’t fix it. I have als…

Hi, this question relates to a 2003 Honda CRV Initial apologies as this question, in various forms has appeared before but I have tried all the solutions suggested. Occasionally I have had to change the battery and once reconnected I have all sorts of issues with the alarm going off. Normally I have found that messing with various things like using and holding the key in the door lock causes the frequency of the alarm going off to decrease till once the intervals exceed 2 min, then the alarm stop completely. Currently, after replacing the battery, the alarm only goes off if I lock the door (using either the key or the fob). Leave it unlocked and it’s fine. …

Hi all. Just thought I'd comment on access to the oil filter Mk2 2.0 petrol) in case anyone didn't already know! All the guides seem to state that you need to raise the car up to access the filter. We'll, having just changed mine I can tell you that's not necessary. If you point the steering to the right, you can easily reach the filter through the wheel arch. Simple. Next on the list is valve clearances...
