I'm looking at purchasing a CR-V 2.2 diesel but confused with the car tax. How come some cars tax costs are only £165 per year and others of the same model £205 per year? The cheaper car to tax is also better on economy, I can't see any info on the matter and seeing as though they are the exact same engine and same year I'm at a loss. Any help will be appreciated.

The garage has just checked a leak in my power steering and informed me that he cant get the parts due to the age of my vehicle. He suggested I use Google or ask on a forum, so here I am! Can anyone suggest a supplier? It’s a Honda CRV 2007 diesel, I’ve tried Google but I’m not sure what I’m looking for. The mechanic said it was the steel power steering pipes that feed the steering rack which have corroded. Is there anyone on here who could offer some advice? I’m wondering if it’s time to go car shopping but I love my Honda! Thanks in advance

I purchased my Honda CRV from a Honda showroom; my sole reason was that my old car was old and high mileage and buying a newish car gives you the sense of security that there will be no fault. I have just hit a year and I have only done 4000 4500 miles on car due to covid reasons I started feeling here gear shift and occasional gear change that felt like two metal plates grinding. so, I took the car into to Honda as I paid for service and its under warranty. they asked me to leave the car for assessing for a day. I got a call back in afternoon car is ok to drive but there might something up, so we need to book it in for 2 days to look in gearbox and clutch. so, I handed m…

Hi All, I have a 2009 Honda CRV SE plus 2.2 diesel. This summer it went in to Honda to have a couple of valve seals replaced. Afterwards, there was a juddering under acceleration that got progressively worse in the higher gears between 1500 - 2200 rpm. It is more pronounced accelerating up hills or towing. There are no fault codes. Honda diagnosed a high pressure fuel pump issue. Another garage suggested the front drive shafts which I have had replaced and the rear diff fluid changed, which has made little difference. Fuel economy has improved but is still nowhere where it was and there is increased tyre wear on the front near-side tyre. Ano…

Good evening everyone! I come to this forum unfortunately with a small problem. My brother changed the battery in my Honda CRV, then my radio got stuck. I should mention that I am on holiday in Bulgaria. I went here to the dealership and they charged me around 45 pounds, converted to BGN. Of course I didn't pay the amount, and I started searching on the net where I could get the code. I found a website, I'll leave the link here : https://autoradiocodes.com/honda-crv/ and I want to know if it's a good idea to buy from here, or if it's a free way to get the code. I'll leave some pictures here of the car and the message on the radio

Hi Guys, If you have an Idling problem I have found a simple remedy which worked for me without having to use any tools 1. Make sure all car electrics are off 2. Turn the Ignition on and wait for 2 seconds 3. Turn Engine on and keep the RPM Revs at 3000 until the temperature reaches Max & the Cooling Fans come on 4. Once the Cooling Fans come on, lift off the accelerator pedal completely 5. Wait 5 Mins This should fix the fluctuation and Idling Problem, The engine needs to be turned on & off a few times for the Computer to finish learning. If the Idling is still too high turn the engine on & off a few times and wait a couple …

Both my ignition keys are now difficult to put into ignition slot. A little lubricant hasn't made any difference. I think both keys might be worn out as the second less used key is now playing up some 18 months after swapping over. Be grateful for any advice on what i should do. Regards Phil

Hi all, I’m in desperate need of help. I can’t disable the Immo on my 2007 CRV. I’ve changed the battery in the fob and on the car, I’ve checked all the fuses, tried to reprogramme the keys, all keys lost, bought a second hand replacement key fob reader on the key cylinder tried to reprogramme it, cried, kicked it, and still nothing. The maxicom tells me that the system is “not normal”, without any hint on what else is going on. I have a green flashing key constantly and an engine management light that comes on initially, blinks and goes out it turns over but doesn’t fire up. The local Honda garage is 40 miles away and the RAC will only take…

Hello I am hoping that someone may be able to help diagnose an issue with our crv 09. We have just had the clutch, fly wheel and bushes replaced. Since the work has been done the engine noise in the cab is a lot more noticeable. It's definitely got louder. Its not a fault noise just normal engine noise. It's almost as if some sound proofing is missing. The car is quite new to us and we aren't mechanically minded. Any ideas?

Hi, I am new to this site and this is my first post. Although I have been driving for 25+ years I am a total novice when it involves anything more than the aesthetics of a car. So I would greatly appreciate any advice please. I have recently purchased a 2009 Honda CR-V i-CTDI which I'm really happy with. However I need to replace an interior bulb above the rear view mirror. I have removed the non working Festoon bulb which states 'Kelly 12v 8w' on it but I am having real difficulty in sourcing a new bulb. All I can find are 12v 10w Festoon bulbs and I am concerned they may do damage to the car. I did look at LED bulbs but again they are only 10w and I've he…

I am a senior who really likes his new CRV but I just discovered fishing in a bass boat. The problem is bass boats are heavy and expensive. Is it nuts to tow a boat that is a couple hundred pounds over the 1500lb tow rating. All my fishing is 15 to 20 minutes away from my home and fairly flat. Any thoughts and yet I am going to add a transmission cooler just to be safe. I would appreciate anyone who has experience with this and their thoughts!! Thank you!

Dear All, I need your support on some issues which I'm currently facing since day one of my purchase. I live in the Middle East and have purchased a brand new Honda CRV 2019. 1) The vehicle center top dome light works but it is actually supposed to get dim gradually and automatically go off once I get inside and switch on the engine. However, the lights only get illuminated when I open the door and remain continually on and I dunno why this problem exists. I tried changing the setting in the three stages available, however no use. 2) When I turn on the ignition I start playing the audio (MP3) from my USB the track plays properly however after approx 2 minutes the…

Does anyone have any experience/ recommendations etc. as to which make or type? - or any to avoid? I imagine nowadays the new bulbs are plug 'n play? Any before/after pictures - and if its worth it?!

I removed my subframes and stripped all control arms and suspension components to delaminate the rust , rub down to metal and paint with rustoleum. ,once cured bath these assemblies in light oil to penetrate all of inside sections... repair the areas that were starting to corrode on chassis from inside out. Like filler neck and surrounding chassis double skinned panels , behind rear arch front road spray trim where it holds debris and rots through to inner sills, and got in about really hard to access places with exhaust removed also... Removed rubber grommets to spray chain lube inside channels where accessible . no wash /wax or oil application can get near this detail…

Hi, I am new to this forum. I am looking to purchase a CRV mk2.5 (2006 - 66k miles) or mk3 (2008 - 33k miles) - both 2.0 petrol and I am not sure which to go for. The 2006 is costing about 2,000 Sterling and the lower mileage 2008 is about 4,000 sterling. The 2006 has an up to date MOT but the MOT on the 2008 is about to expire. I am looking for a low mileage version as I plan to convert to LPG and the investment (about 1,000 sterling) only makes sense if I keep the car for 3+ years. Which one do you think I should go for? Many thanks

Hi, Does anyone know where the filling and drain points are for a 1.6 diesel CRV to carry out an MT fluid change? Alternatively, if you could point me in the direction of a relevant "how-to" webpage. Thanks, Mike
