  1. If the tyres are worn on the inside edge then either you have excessive camber (where the wheels are pointing inwards at the top when viewed from behind or the wheels have excessive toe-in

Either way it is advisable to get a four wheel alignment check carried out to determine the cause of the tyre wear

  2. Ah that's an even better price then!

Clutches can wear faster when towing heavy weights (twin axle car trailer for example) but it is also the stop-start motion on the transmission which is being pushed to the limit unless the trailer is braked and then this can reduce the 'whiplash' on the transmission components

  3. I think I would be tempted to soak the nuts in WD40 or other penetrating oils over time before attempting to undo them.
Using a wire brush in between treatments should also remove corrosion and you then stand a chance of removing them without breaking the studs and also being able to reuse the nuts

  4. Hi Barrie....welcome to the Club

Very unfortunate incident and no insurance payout? 😞

Not sure about the SatNav disc but if its not in the head unit in the dash then it may be in the boot area behind a panel

    Good to have you onboard!

  5. Hi....welcome to the Club

You can't go wrong with a Honda so as long as you keep up with the routine maintenance you shouldn't get any serious issues with the HR-V

You are always welcome to help answer any posts you feel you can assist with your knowledge

    Good to have you onboard!

  6. Hi Chas....welcome to the Club

A glutton for punishment with restoring Honda's but they are amongst the best cars to work on compared to many other makes. I was always working on MG and Rover cars as not too dissimilar to Honda and always enjoyed working on them.

Good to have you on board and you are welcome to assist in answering any posts that you can as you have the in-depth knowledge

  7. Based in the county of Dorset so lovely scenery. I'll bet the scenery and roads are superb in both Ireland and Scotland?

Sold my CR-V and the only Honda I have at the moment is the Honda Africa Twin motorcycle.

The thing is with Honda, it doesn't matter whether it is a car or motorbike, they are reliable and well built.

Good luck with the move Bill.

  8. Similar issue with CR-V of similar year. Worth a try using the same method

So in this video I had a 2004 Honda CRV the rear door would not open the latch broke on the inside it would not allow us to unlock the door. I tried everything to get this door open without taking it apart because I thought taking apart was going to be very hard but it actually was not. We ended up removing the rear seat then we were able to remove the door panel without breaking it. (Luckily) . Although more than likely (unless you go crazy) you will not break this door panel. So you may break some of the plastic clips that hold it to the door assembly itself. So when you pick up the new door latch from the dealership you will need to pick up a couple clips. I highly recommend you get a new door latch versus a used one because these are prone to failure. and the way that I ended up getting the door to unlatch was pretty ingenious. I hope you think so too. So I hope you find the video informative and it helps you get your door open easily and successfully. God bless have the best days thank you for watching

  9. It does seem that unlike some other manufacturers (e.g. Toyota) that Honda are not concerned about older model parts availability.
When a car model reaches a predetermined age then it has done its job and the fact that Honda cars live a lot longer than other makes is that they are made well in the first place.
Therefore, i think more by accident than design, the older Honda's are still around but unfortunately the parts are not.

Secondhand was always the way I went with parts for older cars and in particular American cars which you struggled to get parts for in the day so would visit scrapyards to find what i needed to keep the car on the road.

Nowadays, you can get plenty of brand new remanufactured spare parts for American cars and other specialist cars such as Jags and MGs. Unfortunately, Honda is not one of that foresight has considered so not 'new' parts coming through.

Have you also considered Rover parts as similar Honda models used in the Rover range (600, 800, 200, 400)
