  1. Hi....welcome to the Forum Yes, in the UK the fog light is on the Offside only, although some other cars do have both sides but to pass the MOT test it has to be on the Offside
  2. I think it may be down to the limited use...incredibly low annual mileage!
  3. Hi....welcome to the Forum Sometimes the compressor pulley fails and breaks up. A good way around it is as you suggest, bypassing it with a shorter belt. Maybe a trip to a local motor factors if you could roughly measure (with some string) around the pulleys you want to use and then finding the closest ones to it Good luck and let us know how you get on with it.
  4. Hi John....welcome to the Forum Generally, that engine is very efficient at burning fuel and keep emissions on the low side. I would recommend using quality fuel and Redex prior to an MOT test but the most important thing is to keep the revs high for a distance (using a lower gear) and burn off any carbon deposits in the engine...commonly known as an 'Italian Tune-Up'
  5. Hi....welcome to the Forum You would need to take it to a garage for them to fit it and cost-wise I'm not sure but it would be dealer part only, so not cheap 😞 Let us know how you get on and good luck with the Lab not eating anymore of the car interior 🙂
  6. Hi....welcome to the Forum If it is a modern Jazz then they have a speed warning system which you can switch off. It ties in with signpost recognition and warns that you are approaching a speed restriction Best to read your handbook to see how to deactivate it
  7. As you say you should have this happening to a 7 year old car. I would read through your documentation and see if it comes with a 7 or 10 year body (and Paint) warranty
  8. Not sure what that can be but may disappear with fitting wind deflectors. I fitted some to my 3rd Generation CR-V and made a huge difference
  9. That's certainly a step closer to finding replacement parts for sure. You would need a good hydraulic bench or floor press to do the bushes
  10. Hi.....welcome to the Forum I believe there is a back up battery fitted inside the alarm siren which may need replacing. Not sure if it is a capacitor type battery which may recharge if supplied with battery power after a certain amount of time. This would be okay if you could leave the battery connected without the alarm sounding
  11. Sounds simple but have you checked they are all the correct bulbs fitted as the wrong type can affect all the other bulbs as well (e.g. 1 contact Brake light bulb fitted to 2 contact holder, etc)
  12. Hi Phil.....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard!
  13. Hi Stee....welcome to the Forum Fine looking Civic Good to have you onboard!
  14. It will run rich on cold start as the oxygen sensor will run on open-loop until the engine temperature increases and the goes into closed-loop and alters the air fuel ratio to suit.
  15. Wow...the old diagnostic code retrieval procedure, haven't seen that done in years! I would be surprised if it is an oxygen sensor making the engine lose power. I would be tempted to try again to see if you get another code and I seem to remember that they stack up behind so after reading the first one there may be others waiting to display.
  16. The only other cause for this code is if there is an exhaust leak and air is entering the system and the oxygen sensors are getting conflicting readings (due to the extra air). If as you say, the exhaust system is defective and/or has not been secured back in the correct manner. Let us know how it goes when you sort the exhaust system
  17. I always buy quality oil when I see it at a good price and store it for when I need it in the future
  18. Are you losing coolant...e.g is the heater matrix leaking inside the car. You would usually smell the antifreeze if this was the case. Alternatively, if you can find a garage with a smoke generator machine then it is very easy to find the source of the leak.
  19. Sounds like an ideal result all round Let us know how it all goes
  20. Hi....welcome to the Forum Not sure about the mirror noise but the squeaking clutch pedal is not a new problem. I have cured this in the past with a liberal spraying of Silicon spray and it cures it for some time. The steering noise may be if the full lock is on and held at the stop position. Alternatively, rear diff fluid if needing replacement can give noise from the rear diff when manoeuvring on full lock
  21. Hi....welcome to the forum With suspension components is it sometimes difficult to exactly determine what else would fit as a substitute but I would be surprised if it were any Rover components though. Maybe it would be easier to source bushes and press them into existing suspension arms as a cheaper and more durable option going forward?
  22. I think I would look further into the diagnosis as not often that Cats fail they usually get damaged due to impact or overfuelling. Sometimes could be something as simple as an air leak or faulty oxygen sensors giving conflicting readings. What is the fault code that comes up?
