  3. How should a diesel car be driven? Over the years by various 'esperts' I've been told to get the best and a long life from them drive them hard all the time others have said softly softly and still other softly most of the time but give them a good hard drive sometimes to clean the pipes out. So which is right please.

  5. That's unbelievable, I've only heard good things about Honda and Honda cars but stories like yours are worrying to say the least. I've never dealt with a main dearler or the like so can't make any comment other than feel for you.

You get put inside for 17 years for something you didn't do and when you get out because they made a mistake, there's talk about you paying for accommodation etc. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! out of any compensation you may get.
  9. If you have seen this on Yesterday have you noticed how few Honda's there are? Is it becasue they are too bad/good to be on there or that Honda owners don't part with them????

Fords - over the years Consul (2), Escort (2), Contina (of course I always wanted a 1600E), Escort Van. and Transits mk 5, 6 and 7. Hillman Minx, Hunter, Avenger. Vauxhalls - Victor 101, Astra Max van - Volvo 240GL, Volvo 740, the vans were all used for carrying my dogs. I was way ahead of my time driving Electric ....... albit my milk float!! I do still have a tax disc from about 15 years ago displayed on my 2005 CRV which I've had for a year and for a car 18 years old is something special the condition, finish and equipment would still put many younger cars to same ... and have no intention of going electric again 😀
  14. Another thing I was told was that I keep under the bonnet to dry so on my transit over time ihe linkage jamed up and after a good spray of duck oil was good to go again. And your right about driving style I found it very strange to start with after a ford!!

    Why?

Most of the little dears will be on the school break now, the roads will be so much better for the next 6 weeks, its only because I had to walk to school, there were no 4x4's only Land Rovers no I'm not bitter!!!!🥴 just old!!!!
  22. Alan gsd

    Why?

Having been around a good few years I wonder why they no longer fit indicators to such cars as BMW and Merc's, why people around here drive in the centre of the road and park on corners, and park in 2 parking bays, yep had a bad morning!!! Alan
  23. Gear linkage advice please, when I had Transit vans I found that if I kept the linkage lubricated that it kept changing gear very smooth, told about doing it by a RAC guy who came out when I couldn’t get any gear because it was too dry. My CRV is the best car I have ever had, the finish and all the extras and the doors shut better then a Golf!! My only little niggle is the gear change can be a little stiff, can someone tell me where I can find the gear linkage so I can spray it with Duck Oil please. Alan
  24. My name is Alan and I have a 2005 CRV, had it just a year after years of having a Ford Transit!! Like driving a Rolls!! Love it to bits!! My passion is dogs and dog training and I have an afican grey parrot.
