Hi, I have a Civic 1.4 2006. Recently changed the car battery and ever since the car alarm keeps going off. It's so annoying!! I've had to isolate the positive terminal of the battery as it was waking up the neighbours at night. Does anyone know of how to resolve this issue? How to reset or fix it? Would appreciate any help! Thnx Arif

Hi all, First post, so hopefully I have all the information you require. Thanks in advance for your help! Car - Honda Civic 2002 1.6 SE Executive 5 doors Auto 4 Speed Problem - Fobs not working to remotely conduct central locking (set or unlock car). Previously worked fine. What have I done so far - Replaced batteries in original fob, no change. Replaced fobs and tried to reprogramme, went through process but does not activate or no clicking when clicking the fob (i.e. it doesn't seem to get into the reprogramming stage). Replaced fuses including 50A one (content to try again if suggested!), no change. Replaced receiving unit, no change. I can unlock all of th…

I broke the bonnet release knob on my 04 2.0 L 'S' (Series 7, 5 Door) and now have to keep a pair of pliers in the glove box for opening bonnet. I don't think replacing the whole cable is all that difficult... but probably a PITA. It goes through the bulkhead, inside inner wing and around the engine bay.. underneath the plastic cowl over the radiator..then just past the bonnet catch and then doubles back to the catch. But..for a few quid..numerous suppliers online have a 'bodge'. It's an alloy replacement knob which fixes to the existing cable end with a couple of grub screws. Has anyone used one? The major difficulty seems to be getting the plastic cov…

Hey guys I have a really low budget at the moment of about £1500 and I needed a quick run around/work horse for local city driving and shopping. Car prices at the moment are crazy and I have been struggling to find anything I think would last me 12 months, I found the following car on facebook marketplace that I am interested in, the car is: MODEL: HONDA CIVIC (COUPE) ENGINE SIZE: 1.6 TRANSMISSION: AUTOMATIC FUEL TYPE: PETROL YEAR: 2003 MILEAGE: 96,000 MILES I am not a mechanic and have very basic knowledge about cars if any. I know oil leaks are usually a instant no go.. the engine cap having a mayo like substance usually …

Hi First time posting on the forum. All help appreciated. A lovely toe rag smashed off the passenger mirror on my 03 civic. I bought a replacement on ebay and have tried to fit it today without success. The three bolts on the replacement mirror don't line up with the holes in the door frame so I can't fix it in place. The 2 x bottom bolts go through, the top one however in the "triangle" is about an inch away. I'd checked the part number on the underside of the replacement mirror and my intact driver side mirror. Both are 010672. As well as the top bolts being in different places, it looks like the plastic triangular fascia that should sit flush on the outside…

**** Disclaimer this is LONG, and probably boring. Skip to last paragraphs for key Questions **** Let's start by pre-facing this with "basically I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm learning......." Car failed MOT (UK) for split CV boots. I had some brand-new drive shafts in the garage (can't recall why), so I figured I would just swap the shafts over. I'm working on the ground as it were with the car upon stands. I'm ok with brakes etc so stripped it all down, popped off hub nuts etc and (eventually) popped the old shafts out......... This is where the fun begins! Didn't realise aligning and fully locking a new driveshaft in could be such a…

HI, Had a weird one overnight. I last opened/closed my car last night around 2130, but didn't start the engine, in fact never drove the car at all yesterday. Im positive my drivers window was closed when i left it, as it hadn't been opened all day. This morning my neighbour informed me the drivers window was fully opened. I checked and nothing was amiss, nothing (dash cam, chargers, anything) had gone missing or had been visibly moved. Weather was dry all day/evening. Started the car, opened/closed the window a few times, checked everything, nothing seems to be at fault. My model of the car doesnt have the auto open window function from the keyfo…

Hi. A few weeks back my car developed a fault with an immobiliser. I drove the car regularly and the battery never went flat. Overnight my car developed the following fault. In the morning my fob could not open the car I used the key on the driver's side and it opened the driver's side door only. Curtsy light remained off even when I opened the door. When I turn the key in the ignition to position all control lamps were on and off as usual apart from green key flashing. If I try to start the car I can hear the starter motor cranking the engine but the engine would not start. I called in the locksmith and sadly he informed me that the immobiliser failed to communicate and …

Hello!! As above. I have a passenger side front fog lamp with a cracked lens, which works, but I want to replace it. Car is 04 reg. iVtec Type S 2.0 L 5 door hatch. These lamps are all over eBay from China for around £15-25 but the wait is a few weeks and the quality is anybody's guess. On the other hand UK dealers want £288+VAT which is frankly taking 'dealer premium' to ridiculous levels. So...currently trying to source one s/h. So.. my question. Can anyone recommend a source for this part? And does anyone know it is is possible to change it without taking the whole bumper off? Maybe by removing the panel under the car just behind the bumper?

Hi All I am having trouble finding a front offside brake caliper for my h reg civic 4th gen. (part no. 45210-SH3-E11) I bought one from Autodoc after typing in my reg number. It arrived and the garage said its the wrong part, All the others on that site are out of stock and Honda in Worthing gave me a part number but they cannot find any available sources either. If any one has any advice it would be greatly appreciated...thank you. Regards Nick

Hello, I am a new user and this is my first post. I have a 2002 Honda Civic 1.6 and the handbrake needs fixing, it is the unit that needs replacing. My garage says Honda no longer supply this part and are unable to obtain it from a dealer. They sourced the part on Ebay twice, only to find it is the wrong handbrake. It seems Honda have made at least two versions and the brackets that need to be attached are different to the ones I need (see attached photos of my hand brake). There appears to be no suitable handbrakes on Ebay. I found one that looked suitable but it is for a 1.4 Honda. My garage has a call out to the various scrap places but sill no …
