My gen 9 civic 1.6 DTEC is in need of a few brake related parts. Local Honda dealership price and availability of brake caliper seal kits £70 per axel and ordered from Brussels. Jeeze there's only 1 ring seal and 1 expanding boot seal per caliper. I questioned if this was the complete caliper or just the seals. Appears the calipers are near £500 per corner. Halfords and the likes will only supply complete calipers, looking to increase their profits. I'm going to require discs, pads and brake fluid can anyone advise a cheap reliable one stop shop or do I need to search tinternet. Love my Honda though its not without design problems. Cant see speedometer as steering w…

The time has come for me to part with my Honda HRV 2002. It is worth very little on the open market but I'm hoping someone who loves these cars as much as I do might like to consider it. I don't know how to go about finding a match, so thought a shout out in here might be worth a try. I'm in Cobham, Surrey

Its around four weeks since I had the 4 mismatched tryes replaced on my CRV and the difference is noticeable on the ride and steering. I've used Avon before on my transits and been happy with them so when I was offered 4 at a very good price I went for it. Think they thought I was mad as the old tryes had plenty of tread left but I hated having 4 difference make of tyres and the price won't come again!!

Hi all, I'm looking to purchase my first Honda as I'm after a reliable car that is well specced, well built and not going to lose too much value. I may have to resell in the next 2-12 months, depending on where my job takes me but that's irrelevant. My drive to the office is maybe once a week, 30-40 min B road drive so diesel will get up to temp, every short commute I walk. I also do routine hour plus journeys to see friends or go to customer sites. Now I'm deciding between which to buy from the following, and wondered if there's a difference in build quality as you find with say a BMW 1 series vs a 5, or a Mercedes A class vs an E: …

Advice please - Tyres for a 2005 CRV the front are 215 - 65-16 T the back 215-65-16 H. The tyre presure label on the door pillar just shows 215-65-16 T some trye outlets mention a diifences rating front and back and some don't !! I understand it's about speed, but I not likely to go over 70 in the old girl, so what do I buy the same all round or T front- and H back. Alan

Hi there everyone, I have owned a honda stepwagon 2010 rk5 for nearly a year now and its an amazing car. I am currently looking for a few bits for its next mot like discs n pads, tie rods and suspension arms or all the bushes. I heard that honda use the same parts already available for other models and I am hoping someon1e knows this information because buying the parts that are sold just stating stepwagons are ridiculously overpriced. Kind regards Christian

I don't know if anyone else on this forum has ever had seriously bad Dealership experiences when taking their car in to get serviced. When I purchased my 95 Prelude from a private owner the service book showed a PERFECT history FULL of Dealership stamps. To check if they were genuine I dyno'd the car and found it STILL made 185bhp at the crank and 143bhp at the wheel!! Buoyed up by this I decided that took keep up the cars value I would contribute to have it serviced at my local dealership, Western Honda. However, when I took the vehicle in for a service the last thing I expected was the garage to change my oil, inspect the car and charges me £492!! I could have…

I need some technical advice Guys, When I switch on the Ignition on the CRV from cold star, The Radiator Fan Starts and goes off after about 5 mins, It then clicks and comes on again and goes off etc, Has anyone else had this problem, I think it is draining the battery when this is happening, Coolant level is fine ,all topped up, I have changed the coolant Sensor and now at a loss, I could go on changing Sensors, i.e, the Radiator Module and the Radiator Switch and Relays but this is just an expensive procedure. Has anyone had this problem or can help in solving it .Its getting frustrating not knowing what might be the cause. Any help would be appreciated Cheer…

The TMA (Traffic master) has stopped working on my 2008 Honda Accord 2.4 EX auto. I think it stopped on April 1st. So the traffic event list, which is invaluable for traffic problems she’s that - no entries exist? Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so are there any solutions? nick

I have a 2006 Jazz automatic. Last year it passed its MOT with an Advisory that the brake discs were corroded but not seriously weakened. This year at the same garage (but in the absence of the owner who was not well) it failed its MOT and the discs were classified as Dangerous. However the car had only done 200 miles from the previous MOT. Is this plausible given the low intervening mileage and the report in the previous year's MOT ('not seriously weakened')? In any case, couldn't the rust just be cleaned off - or are brake discs so cheap that one might just as well replace with new.

I think it's time to replace the battery on my 2006 FR-V (petrol). Looking around I can see various batteries priced from £35-£150, and it looks like different retailers use different codes for the same thing as well. For example there's Powerline 048 which costs less than £40, Yuasa YBX5053 / HSB053 which is around double that or something like Lion 158 Car Battery which falls somewhere in between. As far as I can tell all these batteries would be compatible so are there any advantages of getting the more expensive batteries vs the cheaper brands?
