CR-V 2007 to 2011

  1. Started by mark666,

Hi all. I have an intermittent fault on my 2015 CRV diesel auto in that over time, the D drive light flashes for a while which sometimes makes shifting harsh and moving off pretty sluggish. It also stops reverse selecting unless i switch off and restart. Reading the codes, it says code )0974, P0977, P0980 and P0983 which are the 4 drive solenoids all going to open circuit. The odd thing is, any one of the codes can occur first then if I continue to drive, the rest of the codes will randomly show up. All this leads me to think it is a problem with the harness but I have checked all the connections on the gearbox with no apparent problems so perhaps it is at another juncti…

Just got my first Honda last week, it's not new and looks a bit tired in places. I had a look online if people spruce them up at all and add some personal touches but have found an absolute nada. I've got more of a Ford background and my Fiesta ST had a lot of nice interior and exterior mods done to make it my own but Honda community seems to be more conservative. Is there anyone here that has done any modifications to their car to make them, well, more noticeable? I don't necessarily mean in Hot Rod style but so that I can find my car in the car park more like...

Hello all. I have a question that is causing me problems. My 2007 Honda crv 2.2cdti is not holding charge. I can take it on a long run during the day and the next morning it wont start. I then charge the battery for around 10 mins and all OK again. I have had the battery and alternator checked and they are both in great condition but something is draining the battery. Please can anyone suggest what it might be. Thank you.

By chance I lifted the boot floor cover over the spare wheel to find at least 50mm of water filling the well! It must have been there for a while as some steel parts had started to rust. Any idea how it could get there? None of the rest of the boot is wet or stained.

  11. does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes o/s front wishbone with a bracket to attach rod for self leveling switch(zenon lights).plenty without the bracket at reasonable cost.Only managed to find genuine HONDA wishbone which has the bracket at a cost of £730.Alternatively is it possible to get old one re -bushed or perhaps improvise a bracket, though as i understand its not a good idea or legal to weld small bracket.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  14. I am a senior who really likes his new CRV but I just discovered fishing in a bass boat. The problem is bass boats are heavy and expensive. Is it nuts to tow a boat that is a couple hundred pounds over the 1500lb tow rating. All my fishing is 15 to 20 minutes away from my home and fairly flat. Any thoughts and yet I am going to add a transmission cooler just to be safe. I would appreciate anyone who has experience with this and their thoughts!! Thank you!

Hi, I've had my crv about a year and so it's servicing should be due about now. I'm not sure if my crv has variable servicing and tells you via the dash when various parts need replacing. I can seem to find anywhere on the dash to say if it's been switched on or not, does anyone know where I can find out? Also does anyone know where you can find a servicing schedule if it's not, the manual just lists what needs changing for non european models.

Good evening everyone! I come to this forum unfortunately with a small problem. My brother changed the battery in my Honda CRV, then my radio got stuck. I should mention that I am on holiday in Bulgaria. I went here to the dealership and they charged me around 45 pounds, converted to BGN. Of course I didn't pay the amount, and I started searching on the net where I could get the code. I found a website, I'll leave the link here : https://autoradiocodes.com/honda-crv/ and I want to know if it's a good idea to buy from here, or if it's a free way to get the code. I'll leave some pictures here of the car and the message on the radio

Hi Can someone advice me on how to best (and cheaply) update the sat nav on my CR-V? I have a 2012 CR-V EX I-VTEC and the sat nav is pretty rubbish, not taking me the most efficient and shortest routes. I dont want to take it to a Honda dealer as I they'll charge an arm and a leg. I heard that I can update with a DVD found behind the display panel but I can't see how it's done on my model. I've attached a photo of the sat nav. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have a 2011 CRV 4WD with 140,000 miles. Last year, I noticed a delay when shifting into second gear, and it became jerky. I took it to a mechanic who replaced the transmission fluid, but the issue actually got worse. He then replaced the solenoid, which seemed to help for a few months. After another visit to the mechanic, the diagnostic test indicated an issue, so I ordered new solenoids and had them all replaced. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. Currently, it struggles to shift into second gear. When it does manage to engage, accelerating causes the engine to rev up, and it slips back out of gear.

  21. New member 1st time post! My 2018 1.6 diesel auto CRV (bought from new) had been sitting on the drive not doing anything for 2.5 weeks and then I ventured out to to the shops but knew it would need a little run out but, 5 mins in to the motorway journey to the supermarket, it went into limp mode for the 1st time and then I also got the warning sign that the start/stop won't work as the battery is too low! I limped home and left it a day. then took it out to try again and basically run all the kinks out. I drove for 30 mins and on the motorway at high-ish revs and the low battery start/stop warning light went off but the engine management light stayed on. Its a …

Hi I’m having issues with the brakes on my 2010 crv, hoping someone might be able to shed some light as to what to look at. When braking the pedal goes straight to the board with little or no resistance, it slowly brakes. If I pump the brake in preparation to brake then I get resistance and it brakes sooner. Brake pipes have been checked for leaks, fluid is ok, mechanic isn’t sure what to try next, he’s thinking master cylinder on the servo or abs pump so I’m trying to help him do a bit of research to see if either have any particular problems or if it’s possibly something else. Has anyone experienced this problem before? All help and advice appreciated thanks

Greetings all from Northern Ireland - hope you can help. My CRV is, at the moment, broken down, and has been for most of the last month. It's a 2007 2.2 Cdti with 160000 miles and just suddenly stopped working, with all the dash lights flashing. I've had a diagnostic technician out, but he couldn't get the car to communicate with his equipment, though it did start and run for 3 days after he had been. It's very frustrating, to say the least. I think that it's something electrical - the cam chain is fine, no noise when running, and it has a new clutch and flywheel, which is why I'm loathe to give up on it. Anyone come across this before? Thanks in advance!

I left the lights on on my 2006 CRV petrol manual and flattened the battery. I took the battery out and recharged it. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went off almost continuously but didnt go off when I plipped the key fob and in fact nothing seemed to turn the alarm off, manual locking and unlocking doors, operating central locking manually or by key fob etc and the alarm carried on going for 20 mins or so. I could start and drive the car so the immobiliser wasnt acting. The alarm would then stop and restart every 10 mins or so untill I disconnected the battery. on reconnecting the alarm would go off at random times even whilst driving?? It has settled down a bit …
