Wouter Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Hello everybody, I am looking for front shock absorbers for my FRV. Where do you buy them? I can only find te oem ones, aftermarket nothing. I read somewhere that the shocks of a certain Civic model might fit. Ideas? Tips? Thanks😁
Trevor Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 Not sure, checked Eurocarparts and GSF but as you say no parts available for the front. I guess you could remove one to take to local motor factors to compare sizes, etc
Baz Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 i got some front shockers for my CRV of Ebay and have had no problems at all.

Wouter Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 @Baz So to be clear, you bought Honda CRV front shock absorbers for your FRV and it fits ? Just bolt on? Which model Crv Will fit? Would greatly appreciate your input.
zedem Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 I am having the same problem, main dealer want £183 for one. Can't seem to find anywhere else that have them. Am in a bit of a hurry as I have a trip planned next week. Need a front offside.
Daniel Borgenicht Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Hi @zedem, My dealer quoted me a full £100 more than the £183 quoted by your dealer. Could you share the name of your dealer so I may contact them? Hi @Wouter, Did you ever come across front dampers for your FR-V? Mine are completely shot.
Anthony Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I have a similar issue with my rear shocks, rear of the car is starting to sag. Has anyone tried fitting coil-overs to their FRV?
Jon2 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Just wondering if anyone has had any luck sourcing front shocks for their FRV? MOT fail on front nearside, garage having trouble locating any stock at all. Thanks
SuperCNJ Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Hi, just wondering if the OP managed to find a set of aftermarket front shocks for their FRV? I'm in need of a set of front shock - well, at least I think I do.😅 The car is sounding really rough going over anything other than very smooth tarmac. The springs look fine, Honda has had a look and and think its the bump stop but I don't think it is, as I get the rough noise even on small rough patches of road, not just deep pot holes. I think for the bump stop to be engaged you need to almost be bottoming out the travel on the strut. I managed to find a company that will order in a set of Ashika front shocks for me but I've no idea if they're any good. Anyone heard of Ashika shocks?

I ended up getting 2 front shocks from Cox Motor Parts (sales@coxmotorparts.co.uk) for £140 each - not bad considering the other prices I was quoted. However, I was not charged UK VAT as I had them shipped outside the UK. With UK VAT, they would have been £168 each, still not bad. I bought aftermarket Daco shocks for the rear from onlinecarparts.co.uk for £28 each - pretty cheap. The exact model was Daco 551204. Hope this helps. 2 1
Trevor Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Thanks for the feedback Daniel, always handy to know the outcome and also a reputable source for quality Honda parts
Wouter Posted December 29, 2022 Author Posted December 29, 2022 @SuperCNJ Did you order the Ashika dampers? I can't find any dampers aftermarket for the front of the car. So i'm wondering if the Ashika did fit.
Anthony Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) Sorry if I'm digging up an old thread but can I just ask on the rear shocks, would I be correct in thinking it was just the shock strut? i.e. Did you have to re-use your existing springs, top mount and bottom eye bushing?
