Good Morning I was referred to The Honda Owners Club by Honda in Swindon. I own a 1995 Honda CRX (reg N753 EKP, engine no. D16Z6-4709549) which has failed its MOT due to high emission levels. I have been told I need a replacement catalytic converter and was given the name of Online Automotive. They have told me they can supply what I need but asked me 2 questions , neither of which I know the answer to as I am not technically minded. …does my car have a lamda sensor? …does it have onboard diagnostics? Can anyone help or offer any advice – I would be most grateful Thank you Dave 07867 663232

Hi a strange one here but I can’t find my key anywhere, I’ve had the house upside down. Could it be in my boot? It’s locked but I thought all the doors had to be closed for it to lock? Is it possible I have pressed lock on the key while the boot was open getting my stuff and left it in there when closing the boot? I’m baffled

  6. I don't know if anyone else on this forum has ever had seriously bad Dealership experiences when taking their car in to get serviced. When I purchased my 95 Prelude from a private owner the service book showed a PERFECT history FULL of Dealership stamps. To check if they were genuine I dyno'd the car and found it STILL made 185bhp at the crank and 143bhp at the wheel!! Buoyed up by this I decided that took keep up the cars value I would contribute to have it serviced at my local dealership, Western Honda. However, when I took the vehicle in for a service the last thing I expected was the garage to change my oil, inspect the car and charges me £492!! I could have…

  8. Hi Guys. New to the forum. I have a civic 1.6se 5 door 2005. generation 7. Bought it at 5 years old 16k miles as someone wrote my mk 6 saloon off at 149k miles.... rear end smack!. its' 15 years old now and only 40k on it now. About 3 years ago I noticed I had to correct the steering on the motorway .. would veer slightly to the right. Had tracking done. no change. It was laid up for while on and off... because I was! Had to get a jump start, eps light came on but the mechanic cleared it all okay. but since then the steering became worse, cornering left was nightmare.....i had several alignments. 3 separate garages said it was the steering rack, except…

  9. Dishonourable, insane HONDA? Judge for yourself... My 2019 Jazz developed a fault with selecting gears after 2.5K miles of use from new. Under warranty my local Honda garage attempted repairs. They attempted repairs for the same fault on six separate occasions. The car was evaluated each time by Hondas technicians, judged to be faulty and taken in by the garage for investigation and repair. On at least two separate occasions replacement parts were fitted to the vehicle including a new sleeve set synchronizer, case comp transmission, case comp clutch, bearings, oil seals etc. The repairs were billed to Honda UK (Warranty) and totalled £2,316.92. All the six times the …

I joined the forum just recently but can't help noticing many questions/queries go unanswered. Is this a new site that hasn't picked up many members yet? Honda's are so common I would expect to see many posts every day. Am I missing something?

  17. Hi all I would like to pose a question to the group. We have a CRV on 3 year lease hire which is due to expire on 8/6/11. We have been discussing a replacement with our local dealer for some time, certainly before the Japanese disaster. Not unexpectedly deliveries on the CRV we want have gone out of the window and it may even be August before we see a car. So what to do about the current one?. Our Honda dealer says we can continue to pay the monthly hire charge (we are ok on that) but he also wants us to pay for an MOT and a service for a car that we might only have for a few weeks. This doesn't seem fair to us. What do others think Chris Redwingtwo

How should a diesel car be driven? Over the years by various 'esperts' I've been told to get the best and a long life from them drive them hard all the time others have said softly softly and still other softly most of the time but give them a good hard drive sometimes to clean the pipes out. So which is right please.

I need some technical advice Guys, When I switch on the Ignition on the CRV from cold star, The Radiator Fan Starts and goes off after about 5 mins, It then clicks and comes on again and goes off etc, Has anyone else had this problem, I think it is draining the battery when this is happening, Coolant level is fine ,all topped up, I have changed the coolant Sensor and now at a loss, I could go on changing Sensors, i.e, the Radiator Module and the Radiator Switch and Relays but this is just an expensive procedure. Has anyone had this problem or can help in solving it .Its getting frustrating not knowing what might be the cause. Any help would be appreciated Cheer…

Hi, I have a 1980 Civic imported from Malta. In order to register in the UK, the DVLA require proof of manufacture from Honda or an owner's club. I contacted Honda UK who then contacted Japan but, strangely, they said they can't date it. Can anyone here help? Pic (not great) attached for interest!

  25. Started by Berni,

Hi all - just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced their battery draining on the Honda CR-V (2018 model)? Ours is only 7 months old and the battery has died completely twice within 10 days. I drive the car every day (maybe a half hour in the am and a half hour in the pm). Breakdown services and the Honda dealer can’t seem to explain why the battery is draining. We never had this issue with our previous model. I’d really appreciate hearing back from anyone who has had a similar issue and how you fixed it. Thanks in advance.
