CR-V 2001 to 2006

  1. Very sad to have to let my CRV go. Petrol, manual 2004 125000 milage £350 .The cat was cut out damging the adjoining exhaust parts. Having gone round in circles with the insurers and different mechanics I need to throw the towel in. I don't have the time or space to fix her. She does have front driverside damage to the wheel arch too but mechanically everything is fine. She would need to be towed or put on a trailer. I want to get rid by the end of the week. March the 10th, daytime pickup on Monday and Friday. Or from 6.30 pm any day but Wednesday. Location is Camberwell London.

  2. I recently bought this car and i am not sure if is chain or cambelt. Anyone can help me? Thank you in advance

Gear linkage advice please, when I had Transit vans I found that if I kept the linkage lubricated that it kept changing gear very smooth, told about doing it by a RAC guy who came out when I couldn’t get any gear because it was too dry. My CRV is the best car I have ever had, the finish and all the extras and the doors shut better then a Golf!! My only little niggle is the gear change can be a little stiff, can someone tell me where I can find the gear linkage so I can spray it with Duck Oil please. Alan

Hi all, I've joined to ask a question of a knowledgeable group: My headlights have stopped working on my normally excellent 2002 CRV. Side lights, inidcators and main beam all work. I've swopped the steering stalk mounted switch, check the fuses (which are independant L & R) and of course looked at the bulbs. Now at a loss, can anyone offer some thoughts please? Thanks

Greetings and a Happy New Year to everyone. I felt I must attempt to share this problem with other CR-V owners. My driver side seat belt in my 2005 CR-V often fails to return to the correct position when it is released after use. It generally sits around the floor and prevents the driver side door from closing. I am aware of the cause most likely coming from the inertia reel which is fixed at a low level, behind the hard plastic trim situated between the two doors. The problem is mainly how to gain access to the reel without doing too much damage. The trim covers quite area, and with no obvious points of fixture using screws I assume the …

  10. Hi all, I've noticed this pipe on my crv broken, it's been bodged with glue from previous owner. Honda don't know what the part is from their system it's showing as my vehicle doesn't have this pipe. I'm after both pieces the long hose arrowed in pic and the joint it connects too. Extra credit if anyone as part numbers 😂👍 Interestingly does anyone know what this pipes function is ? I also havea knock sensor fault up could this broken (unconnected) pipe cause that ?

When I bought my CR-V, the rear wash did not deliver water to the rear screen. The wiper works fine. I set about it one day and pulled the screenwash through by suction. I reconnected the washer pipe and it produced a lovely jet down the rear screen. I tried it a few times in the following days and it was great. However, with the dry spell we're having at the moment, I haven't had to use the rear wash. I tried it again a few days ago as the rear screen was a bit dusty, and nothing, just an occasional drip. Can anyone give me an idea why the screenwash keeps disappearing and will not pump up again please? It's very annoying rather than life threatening. Thanks in adva…

So the saga continues, have had problems since day 1 with wobble from my CR-V. 2007, MK2, 2.0 Petrol, Manual. When i got it, at 50 mph the side to side wobble in the car was pretty bad. Had the wheels balanced - no change Changed the drivers side drive shaft - seemed to fix the problem, except a slight wobble at 20mph. Drove to france towing a caravan, something let go bad, the wobble got super bad. Ordered a 2nd hand drive shaft and intermediate shaft from eBay - wobble mostly gone, except at 55mph again it would do it Ordered an Intermediate shaft from AUTODOC, went to fit it last night... total garbage. So, whilst in the …

I have a 2006 CRV petrol exec manual with 117,000 miles which has been showing the engine management light after about 20 mins of driving. Fault code is always the knock sensor. I erase the fault with OBD and the light goes out but always comes back on again sometimes after a day and sometimes after 10 mins!! The car is not "pinking" and seems to be running perfectly with no odd engine noises at all even when listened to with a stethoscope. I tried new plugs just in case but didnt fix it. I have so far fitted 2 new aftermarket knock sensors and they fix it for a while but the fault code soon returns. I have even tried disconnecting the sensor but it still lights the engin…

I didn't notice the red oil light come on and ran my CRV for 15 miles. Now on the key it makes an awful noise. Thought I'd mention this here in the off chance that someon might find it useful before it goes to the breakers next week (after calling them I am looking for £300, or more!). It has been well used, ie. lots of scratches on the corners, a broken door mirror and the back seats are out, but available MOT to August, was running great until the sudden oil loss, tow bar, Honda roof bars

I left the lights on on my 2006 CRV petrol manual and flattened the battery. I took the battery out and recharged it. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went off almost continuously but didnt go off when I plipped the key fob and in fact nothing seemed to turn the alarm off, manual locking and unlocking doors, operating central locking manually or by key fob etc and the alarm carried on going for 20 mins or so. I could start and drive the car so the immobiliser wasnt acting. The alarm would then stop and restart every 10 mins or so untill I disconnected the battery. on reconnecting the alarm would go off at random times even whilst driving?? It has settled down a bit …

Hallo everyone! I am new here and don't know who is out there! Just bought a nice CRV Sport and everything is fine except the radio seems to be the basic model with no sat nav and if it has a changer other than the interface I have not seen it. For a car registered in 2007 this kit is a bit basic and I wondered if anyone knows of a product from here or China that is a good replacement for this model. Bluetooth and sat nav would be nice but I have a Tom Tom so the latter is less important. Thanks in advance. Julian

Just bought myself a 2003 CR-v with sat nav & cd system... Usually there is an accessory position on the ignition swith, not on mine though! One turn of the key brings all dash lights on then next turn starts car, also the radio has to be turned off manually, ie there is no position on the ignition switch for accessories, radio, windows etc... Is this normal? Thanks guys
