CR-V 2007 to 2011

  1. Started by VAV,

Hello, I was stuck outside of the UK since June 2020 and could not come back until now May 2021. The car was left in a garage all this time and was not driven/started for months. I tried jump-starting it using a NOCO BOOST and using another car but nothing happens. There is not even a sound, the lights don't come on. Would anybody have any ideas? Is this most likely just a zeroed out battery? Or am I doing something wrong? I am using the big bolt pin on the chassis as the ground terminal. I am really surprised that nothing happens. I would expect at least the starter motor to turn. The car is automatic, so I can't even release the …

Hello. I have seen a previous post regarding a leaky boot and the spare tyre well filling up. Before I start tearing the rear apart, has anyone actually found the ingress point yet? Seems to be quite common but no online solution as yet. Thanks all.

I removed my subframes and stripped all control arms and suspension components to delaminate the rust , rub down to metal and paint with rustoleum. ,once cured bath these assemblies in light oil to penetrate all of inside sections... repair the areas that were starting to corrode on chassis from inside out. Like filler neck and surrounding chassis double skinned panels , behind rear arch front road spray trim where it holds debris and rots through to inner sills, and got in about really hard to access places with exhaust removed also... Removed rubber grommets to spray chain lube inside channels where accessible . no wash /wax or oil application can get near this detail…

  6. Hi, I have a 2011 CR-V. Lately it has been juddering (felt mainly through the steering wheel and also down by the pedals) when either on a full lock turn, whether forward or reversing, or an almost-full lock turn both in forward and reverse. I am very concerned at the safety aspect of this, as well as clearly annoyed that it could happen. Any help with what this might be; how serious; and what might need doing would be appreciated... Thanks.

  10. Hi, We own a 2009 Honda Crv EX 2.2 diesel car for a year now. A couple of months back we've noticed the car battery went dead twice on us so we decided to invest in a new one. To our surprise 2 weeks later the new one went dead too! So we swapped the old battery (thankfully didn't get rid of it!) and charged up the new one (also double checking nothing had been left on inside the car). After 3 days when opening the car door, I strangely saw the sat Nav fascia was stuck half open (like it had a power surge) and low and behold, battery dead again. All becoming a bit like groundhog day now, so decided to get it booked in with the mechanics for the following week. Meanw…

what is the recommended oil for a 2007 i-ctdi i keep seeing 0-20 0-30 5-30 fully synthetic i can understand 0-20 0r 030 on a newish model but when a vehicle as done 140,000 miles plus i would have thought 5-30 would be a better option, advice welcome.

I'm new to the forum and couldn't find a thread dealing with this. We have just bought a 2012 CRV 2.0 EX (3rd gen). and wondered if the steering wheel controls (media, cruise etc) are supposed to be illuminated at night. I have seen some photos on another forum suggesting they should be, but ours aren't. if they should be, I can start trying to fix. Otherwise I guess we'll learn the buttons eventually! Can anyone confirm yes or no to this?

  22. 2007 (gen 3) Honda CR-V EX 2.2 i-ctd-i 6 speed manual. The dash clock in the navigation/entertainment centre will not retain time after it is set and then the ignition is turned off, BUT it will keep the time if the ignition is not turned totally off even with the engine not running. If the ignition is kept on Aux, the run position or the engine is running it is fine. Is there a fuse or relay that controls this? I have disconnected the battery, waited 30 minutes then reconnected it, reset the radio code , the ECU then reinitialised the security system but it had no effect. 8 attempts so far and always the same result.....HELP please.

Model is a CRV SE (2016) 2.0 petrol manual This issue has just started - warning comes on after 4 or 5 mins driving Before warning appears it does auto stop as expected Disabling the AutoStart via button below handbrake removes message Warning seems to indicate battery, but there are no other issues with battery starts fine, very quickly Battery is an EFB model, EuroCar parts showing a price of £399 ! Other suppliers show £110 AGM batteries as suitable when using Reg number to identify 399 is an expensive experiment to see if it fixes issue Do you really need to use the EFB battery ? Any other suggestions please ?

Evening; I have a 2014 model that doesn't have factory fit rails. Honda will sell me some for £500 plus fitting, or I can buy a set of Cruz bars that fit under the roof line for around £80. Cruz bars are well reviewed, anyone have any experience with a CRV? Thanks
