Hi Guys, So at the end of the road really and getting to the point of scrapping the car. It's a 2008 2.2 Diesel FRV 110k. I've had this hot start issue for a couple of years and last time the mobile mechanic that came out couldn't really give me a definitive answer. The battery used to go flat as well, put it down to short journeys. Anyway few years on I decided I had enough and started putting money in getting it looked at. The problem simply is the car starts fine early in the morning but after a good run and it's warmed it hesitates to start, needs bit of a prolonged start and gives a judder. Odd one this and I'm not sure how it passed it's recent MOT. All my indicators work fine with the indicator stalk, however, all the left side ones (front, rear and wing mirror) don't work when hazard switch is pressed. Any ideas?

Hello! The offside drive shaft of our 2005, 143,000 mile 2.0 Sport Vtec FR-V has broken so could cost the best part of £1,000 to replace and repair. Does anyone know where to get a good second hand one from and a driver's seatbelt with fittings, too? I can only find a drive shaft from Honda which is almost £800, way more expensive than the £120 it would have cost for a new, nearside driveshaft from an alternative supplier. And even Honda doesn't appear to stock a seat belt... so no point replacing the shaft if the car then fails the MoT due in July re the seatbelt issue... We are only the second owners and have had the car …

Hi Everyone, I am a new member of the forum and I am struggling to find out the real reason of an electrical issue with my FR-V. Long story short, the remote central locking block got broken about a year ago, I was told it was worth to use the key only to lock-unlock the car as fixing the block would cost an arm and a leg. There was a deadlock in the doors a few month ago that has been fixed by replacing the 10A door lock fuse (fuse number 22 in the passanger room) with a 15A one. Hello Is there any guideline as to how much oil the engine is expected to use. Every time I check it (which isn't that often) the oil seems to be low. And whilst we're talking about oil - what is the best oil to buy? When I put the registration in to various car parts stores they usually seem to recommend an oil that is designed for Ford engines. Is it important to stick to the exact recommended API category (the handbook says) SJ or SL, or is it ok to use SN instead? Besides the API specification, is there anything else that matters? The manual specifies 5W30 viscosity.

I was wondering (as I have seen this done on other Honda vehicles) can I purchase a module/relay to open/close the side mirrors via my key fob and if I can also open/close all 4 windows with the key fob as well (Global open/closure)?. Hello all. I have a Honda FRV 2.2 CDTI Sport. 56 plate. I saw a video recently of a CRV and a civic where the owners attach a relay / module to the driver side Electric window/side mirror control panel. He was then able to fold /unfold the side mirrors via the remote key fob and also the Windows with the key fob (Global open /closure). Can this be done with the FRV? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Hello 2006 Honda FRV with 120k miles on the clock. Reasonably recently had starter motor replaced and gearbox oil changed by local mechanic. Was driving fine. Some issues occasionally with clutch pedal - would press down and it wouldn't engage clutch so would have to come back up and press down again and then it would be fine. But pretty occasionally. Car used for towing a small caravan. Whilst towing gear selection failed entirely. With engine off, you can press clutch pedal and engage gears. With engine on you can press clutch pedal down but cannot engage any gears and if you try 2nd it makes a horrid grinding noise. …

Hi Folks, Im looking for advice on a good clutch kit for my '06 1.7 ltr Petrol FRV. Hi Folks, hopfully this topic hasn't been covered, My 06' FRV Rear Hatch Struts (this part 04741-SJD-000) are fairly squeeky and have lost a bit of their lifting power. My question is has anyone replaced their rear hatch struts? And specifically can you just replace the strut or do I need to replace the fixing brackets too? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Right so I bought this car three months ago its sat on and off. Changed the Oil, A+O + C Filter, Window Switch, Regulator. Then I had noise on power steering and froth. Changed gaskets and flushed with Honda fluids. Noises still on Aux acceleration. Changed Aux Idler pulley, and tensioner as noisey. (Well mechanic did) But I still have noise on the belt side on intial pull. Noticed movement in pulley itself. No clue what pulley it is or what to put into replace? Video below. Hello Looking for ideas here. I had a catalytic converter and lamda sensors stolen. I bought replacements online (onlineautomotive.co.uk) and a few months later it started tripping the engine management light - P0420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). I'm now wondering about trying to get the catalytic converter replaced under warranty and wondering what is the best way to go about it? They understandably want to pick it up, but I need to use the car in the mean time if there is a delay until they send out a replacement or refund. My good lady parked our FRV, went shopping came back and it just wont start. so far I have tried The inertia cut out switch - seems ok Changed the fuel rail pressure regulator valve Changed the fuel rail pressure sensor valve So the symptoms are that when monitoring live data the Fuel Rail Pressure only goes up to 65 to 90 PSI with the old pressure sensor valve but the new valve shows nothing Oddly the old pressure sensor shows 30PSI even when connected in to an empty fuel rail Today I changed the high pressure fuel pump but still no change I am obviously missing something that's staring me in the face. Hi Everyone. Driving back home yesterday after a 40mile run my engine stopped about 500 metres from my house. It wouldn't start again (plenty of fuel). After 5 mins it started again then just died straight away and did this a few times. After it cooled the engine started and runs fine but I have an orange engine light on. Any ideas? Fuel filter maybe? I'm reluctant to take it for a long run. Thanks in advance...It's the 2.2 diesel
