HI, I have a 2006 2.2cdti sport FR-V. I love it and so does our 10 year old in the middle seat:-) I recently had to do a couple of thousand miles in a matter of three weeks - the car has already done 166,000 miles, but has never missed a beat. The car drives great, but I have noticed it is taking longer to crank. it would previously start in a second , but now it i taking between 2-5 ? One started , it drives fine, no loss of power, etc, and doing a reasonable 41-44 mpg on a run. ( I am not a boy racer :-) ) I am not a mechanic but should I be concerned , as I have to do another thousand …

Hi Everyone, I am a new member of the forum and I am struggling to find out the real reason of an electrical issue with my FR-V. Long story short, the remote central locking block got broken about a year ago, I was told it was worth to use the key only to lock-unlock the car as fixing the block would cost an arm and a leg. There was a deadlock in the doors a few month ago that has been fixed by replacing the 10A door lock fuse (fuse number 22 in the passanger room) with a 15A one. The doorlocks sometimes turn on or off randomly without using the car key. That happens when I unlock the door but sometimes when driving. Since yesterday, if I unlock the d…

After 15 years of owning the FR-V in London, my catalytic converter was stolen yesterday. Really pissed off. Having seen a post from here the uk.hondaownersclub.com. I've bought a replacement from https://catman.co.uk/ I'm not a mechanic, so hopefully it will have all the bits I need. Then its just another waiting game, as it might get stolen again. Is this be coming more common?

We are reluctantly selling our lovely FRV EX automatic in black. ULEZ compliant. This 6-seater car has a full-service history and an MOT with no advisories until 2024. It includes rear parking sensors, climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, CD and radio with AUX port for smartphone / MP3 connectivity, 3 Isofix points, leather seats all round, heated front seats, privacy glass, roof rails, electric folding mirrors, electric windows all round, cruise control and a Parrot Bluetooth hands free kit. The car is in excellent condition, with some marks to the bodywork expected in a car of its age. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Hello Is there any guideline as to how much oil the engine is expected to use. Every time I check it (which isn't that often) the oil seems to be low. And whilst we're talking about oil - what is the best oil to buy? When I put the registration in to various car parts stores they usually seem to recommend an oil that is designed for Ford engines. Is it important to stick to the exact recommended API category (the handbook says) SJ or SL, or is it ok to use SN instead? Besides the API specification, is there anything else that matters? The manual specifies 5W30 viscosity.

My remote control was becoming slower and slower to respond, and it got to the point where I had to press it multiple times for it to open/lock the car. I changed the battery, and at the time I remember having some trouble getting it to work. Initially it refused to work and then after pressing the buttons a few times it started to work. This was in early August. Then last week I went out; when I unlocked the car it worked perfectly but when I came to lock the car the remote control was completely dead. No gradual degradation like I had last time, and the battery was changed only a couple of months ago. I was able to lock the car with the key, but when I …

I am in need to replace FR-V 2009 1.8l petrol automatic right hand (driver side) drive shaft and I can't find the replacement part as it shows everywhere out of stock. Part number is 44305-SJD-E20 and I wonder if there is any alternative option for that part, maybe some other honda models share the same part but under different part numbers? I found Honda OEM part but I can't afford to spend over £500 just for part alone and also wait till mid october, so any input from you guys will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! JZ

Hi I have a 2008 1.8 EX FR-V. The little pull down flap drawer thing has come loose and fallen off along with a spring clip which somehow needs to be fixed to the drawer or housing. I've tried various ways this could go together but struggling to refit with the spring. The drawer door clips into please but drops down all of the time which I presume the spring clip keeps the drawer door in place when closed. Does anyone know how this goes together please? I would be very grateful to get some idea perhaps someone could post a picture of theirs so I can get an idea please? Many thanks

Hi ,I have a 2005 honda frv 2.2ictdi. I have had her since new with no real problems. Recently she has developed a high pitch squealing sound that appears to be coming from the rear of the car . It only seems to be present when turning right ,and only when going above 15 mph. It is both embarassing and concerning . She has had a new link arm at the rear that did not solve it. She has had new breaks fitted that has not solved it. 3 mechanics have charged me to "look " at her but not given any helpful answers other then could be break dust or grit Does any one have any idea what the cause could be as I am getting annoyed paying mechanics but not getting noise st…

My 2006 Honda FR-V, 2.0l petrol has failed MOT with an exhaust leak, co content exceeding limits and lambda outside limits. My mechanic has pointed to the centre silencer, which is leaking at the joint with the rear section of the exhaust. Four years ago, I replaced the exhaust center silencer box with a pattern brand (EuroFlo) - I can't remember if as the OEM spare part was even available at that time. Is it normal for this component to wear out so quickly? I'm still using the original OEM exhaust for the rear section and that has lasted for 18 years and 100,000 miles without issues, whereas the replacement has failed after just four years. …
