  1. I would recommend replacing the oil and filter with quality parts and more frequently than normal service intervals suggest Honda do not have any reputation for timing chains failing so you should feel more relaxed about driving it.
  2. The trim should just pull off and is held by plastic clips which may destroy as you pull the trim off but are replacable Be careful not to allow the belt to fully retract into the reel (use a sandwich bag clip or similar) and will only retract when in the vertical position Good luck and let us know how you get on with it
  3. Not sure of Google maps option but would suggest he pay a visit to the Honda dealership and they should be able to guide him through the setup
  4. I would be tempted to peel back the rubber gaiter that runs from the vehicle body to the tailgate and see if there are any wires broken in there
  5. I would be surprised if you could just synch a blank key to a car as many thieves would just do this It would be a dealership or Honda specialist job to code it to the car
  6. I would refer to your dealer and get them to investigate any concerns At least you can also state that you questioned it if anything does go wrong with the vehicle
  7. I would be tempted to remove the cover from the inside of the tailgate and see if you can secure the trim from behind (maybe a self tapping screw would be sufficient to hold it)
  8. It does sound like it is the strut top mounts that are worn if these have not been replaced yet
  9. Thanks Alan and totally agree that with the belief that hopefully 2025 will be a better year for us all 🙂
  10. Definitely let the engine idle for a while to get warm as the combustion pressures that occur on a diesel engine are highest when cold and can lead to cracked heads, etc I always advocate starting the engine first and then plug in seatbelt, adjust heater, radio, etc to allow it to warm enough to drive away with less detonation when its at the initial stages of combustion.
  11. I have motorbike boots that make a hell of a din when I'm walking in them
  12. Merry Christmas to the members of the Honda Owners Club Enjoy the festive break and see you back here in 2025
  13. just thinking that if you are going to change it that you will lose a bit of oil so why not put a little bit more in now and see if the light stays off and what is over the level will be lost with changing the sensor I would imagine
  14. Sounds like it all turned out okay and any repairs are understandable maintenance tasks which any car you'd have to attend to, so nothing out of the ordinary to be concerned about at the moment then. You got a good deal on the car by the sounds of it 🙂 Thanks for sharing the updates
  15. Try IceBoxAutos website who specialise in aftermarket audio replacements https://www.iceboxauto.com/iba-honda-entertainment-systems
  16. How did you get on with it? Did you go for it or find a cheaper option?
  17. let us know how it all goes
  18. Great news about the MOT and very interesting research on the car's history....look forward to the next installment
  19. I would start with EuroCarParts and they also have huge discount offers most days If you are after performance parts (lowered springs, uprated dampers, etc) then DemonTweeks is a good company to order parts from
  20. Thanks for posting the pics.....its starting to look good and great colour too.
  21. I would check the door switches first as if any of them are faulty then this could be the reason for the alarm sounding. Open each door in turn and see if the interior light comes on and goes off (including the tailgate) if you find one that doesn't behave as it should then that may be the cause. Also try a battery reset to see if that silences the alarm
  22. I have done that before on a Nissan X-Trail and worked fine. Just keep the inner and outer driveshaft joints where they are and take the shaft out from it
  23. I think all the bases have been covered, bigger battery, software updates on the vehicle....I would definitely invest in a booster pack just in case
  24. As it is a brand new car, I would be tempted to pop back to the dealership to ask them if there is a way to change the view settings
  25. Yellow light means it needs topping up generally
