I wonder if an engine or transmission mount has broken and caused the clutch travel to be affected? Let us know how it goes and what you find the cause to be

Engine start with difficulty after DPF forced regeneration
Trevor replied to SKM's topic in 2008 to 2015 Accord
Quite possibly it needs a good fast long run to get things to settle down a bit and clear any residue from the engine Check the engine oil level (and quality - e.g. not diluted with diesel fuel) and then stick to 60 or 70 mph in lower gear to keep the revs up (italian tune-up) and that should cure it If unsuccessful or any warning lights come on then you will have to investigate further -
I have come across this before where the key fob has been held down on the unlock button Its sometimes a reaction to see if the car has locked when you have walked away from it and as it auto-locks then its always uncertain so the tendency is to press the buttons to look for telltale indicator flashes and/or the buttons were inadvertently pressed while in the trouser pocket. Not saying this is the case of your situation but it happened to my father in law who was adamant it wasn't his doing so a special wallet was made for the fob to drop the keys into when walking away from the car and never had an issue since

Hello from Honda Jade 2015 hybrid 1.5 petrol

Can you not use some specialist cleaning solutions....have used them in the past and then followed it with an Italian Tune-Up which usually does the job Halfords do a good range of EGR cleaners to try and see how you get on

You may be able to remove the door card from inside if you shuffle the seat either backwards or forwards and undo the screws you can locate The rest of the card should unclip from the pop clips in the door

Is there a brake or clutch pedal that has to be applied to start the car?
-
I genuinely do not remember the traffic lights, will look them up now to see how it worked Nodding dogs I do remember
-
Fingers crossed Also, worth checking the fuel filter and replace if necessary You can tell that its an issue if the rubber bulb at the filter housing is soft and takes a few pumps to stiffen up then the engine usually starts straight away afterwards
-
I don't think I'm as old as you Alan but I do remember most of the things you mentioned above
-
Just lucky you found it in time but worth getting them to check all the other wheels and anything else that could have not been tightened correctly (oil filter, sump plug, etc) and maybe the next service as a gesture of goodwill?
-
Did a google search and a few images on there but also found this video and not sure if its relevant to your situation
-
Gosh, you are showing your age Alan 🙂 However, I do also remember most of the ones you mention Car Coats, Driving Gloves, Rug on the rear shelf (all of the aforementioned to keep you warm if you didn't order the optional interior heater)

It all comes back to the one issue, the car is not suitable for short distance driving at low revs for a sustained period of time. Once you have managed to clear out the DPF then run it at high revs for longer in lower gears and it should be fine Better quality fuel may help but not entirely convinced Another issue that can occur from slow / low rev driving is that the turbo variable vanes can gum up with carbon deposits and although this can be cleaned with treatments that can be found on eBay it will occur every so often unless the carbon is not allowed to build up again

You could get a stainless steel system made up for it cheaper than you would think Also, lasts forever and definitely sound better as well

You don't tend to see dust covers now but if they are in good condition and you wish to refit them then at least it will provide another level of protection for the dampers

May be worth trying the dealer for the code sometimes costs but mostly I have got it for free You will need the radio serial number and maybe the registration document to prove ownership

Following my son on his final journey
Trevor replied to Charles stitling's topic in Honda General Discussions
Sorry to hear that sad news I have moved the post into the General Discussions section which may prompt a response from some of the members -
The long and short is that the engine is not being driven hard enough When you mentioned that you did a long journey on a motorway and the light stayed off for some time then this is what needs to be done every so often to keep things clear. Take a look at this post for further information:

Murco was another station you don't see too many of nowadays

This is normal as the air conditioning when it is switched onto 'recirculate air' extracts the moisture from the air and expels it under the vehicle when you stop, you will then notice the pool underneath It is sometimes not a good thing to have the A/C switched onto Recirculation and should switch it to Fresh Air instead as it dries out the interior air a little too much
-
Possibly wheel bearing but if you were entering a left bend then it would be the offside bearing unless it is the rear one. Really need to jack up each wheel and spin to hear if it is rough and/or noisy, although most of the time this only occurs under load when cornering
-
My belief is that if it went together it can come apart However, I think you'll need to remove the mirror glass (without breaking it) and then the 'gubbins' inside to then remove the outer shell

Honda jazz 1.4 i-VTEC ES i Shift Euro 4 5 door 2010
Trevor replied to Wojciech's topic in Jazz 2008 to 2015
The automatic gearbox is not the smoothest one in the market but perfectly usable around town especially for a new driver You can always budget for an oil and filter change of the transmission fluid which may improve the shifting slightly
