2008 to 2015 Accord

Saloon & Tourer

  1. My 2009 Honda Accord 2,2 i-DTEC with 165,000km (100,000 miles) stalled during low speed and has not started ever since. Engine is cranking but won’t start. The car was at Honda facility where at first, thought something was wrong with the automatic transmission or ECU. Later said fuel pump is damaged and will have to be replaced along with the injectors. As the estimated costs where way too high, I decided to tow the car to my indie mechanic. He said the pump is working, removed the injectors, had them checked and found there was nothing wrong with them either. Still, the car will not start. Lastly, he thought something was wrong with the EGR valve…

I have always installed cold air intakes on my cars but I’m having a hard time finding a cold air intake / air induction kit for my 2009 accord 2.0 petrol v-tec 🤷🏻 I’ve found many for the 2.4 versions and 3.6 but nothing for the 2.0 ? Am I missing something guys? I’m new to JDM cars and the HONDA brand. Thank you for any help.

Hi Gents, need advice! I need help here, I hate how my 2.0 petrol (R20A3) engine sounds, well if I can even say "sounds" as the engine is as quiet as a Nissan Leaf! I would be ever so grateful if anyone would point me in the right direction, either someone who has installed a cold air intake to a 2.0 or if not, which air intake to buy? Note: The engine seems to be really similar, if not the same, to my previous 1.8 civic (R18A2) engine I had. Please see attached.

  4. Can anyone identify the noise? It almost sounds like injectors but the tapping/ticking noise seems to be too loud? Is this normal? Only thing I can think of is maybe I'm due a valve adjustment?

  5. Hi everyone, new to the forum. I have an 09 2.4i Accord Manual which I've owned nearing 3 years now, and have loved the car, really fun, great engine. For a good few months now its developed a horrible shaking/vibration when accelerating past 45-50mph, more noticeable going up any type of hill, its really horrible when I look at the passenger seat to see it shaking. In the last few months, it's had 4 wheel alignment done, recently noticed the driver side wheel was missing its weights so thought that might have been the culprit, turned out I needed new front tyres anyway so had them changed and still the vibrating/shaking continues. …

My faithful Honda died on me for the 1st time in 300000 miles. Car suddenly cut out displaying fuel injection fault. Green flag was unable to fix at side of road due to no tools and diagnostic tool wouldn't connect and I quote mechanic " this piddly thing is useless, not like those large diagnostic tools in dealerships" Joke. Got the car home and placed a proper diagnostic tool " Fuel rail low pressure fault" Car has no fuel pressure. Car started on sniff but miss firing and a concerning noise from the rocker cover. Not a good sound. Mechanic thinks something has seized on the top cam shafts. I am trying to save the car as I have had it from ne…

Hi Posted this on my intro but , thought this maybe a better place for it. I am trying to swap the original grill for one I purchased from MV Tuning in Russia, I have had a different insert made up for it and had it painted so keen to try it on the car. Question is do I have to take off the full bumper to remove the old one, admit it does look the case as I can see how you can get to the clips that hold the bottom tabs in place. If so as anybody got any helpful instructions (or can point me to a video or manual). If anyone as experience of MV Tunings kit that may stop me making a mess of it much appreciated. The new ones got no tabs on the b…

Hello, newbie here so apologies if its been asked before. I have a 2009 model Honda Accord, and have owned it for the last 9 years. Its an absolute beast, never let me down. It would seem now though, with nearly 210k on the clock, that the air con pump has failed. My question is, does anyone here know if a pump off the earlier Accord model will fit, or would one off a Civic or CR-V? I'm really struggling to get one off the model I have, hence the question. There's loads of CR-V and Civics about in the scrapyard but no Accords. Looked at a few pictures online of different pumps from varying models and can't seem to see much difference. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have accord 8 gen, 2009 2.2i-dtec model. My aircon pump has died. New ones are a bit expensive, so I have started looking for used part. I cannot find anything on ebay specifically for accord 8 gen with diesel engine. I found some for accord 7 gen and one from civic 2009 2.2i-dtec. I couldn't find any information whether any of the above would fit into my accord. The part number from civic 2009 2.2i-dtec I found is 38800-RSR-E010-M2. Unfortunately, I cannot check the part number in my car without going to a garage. Does anyone know whether previous accords pump would fit in or the civics pump please?

I have a 2011 type S, the stupid auto levelling headlights are a nuisance especially on these dark nights. If I'm parked up stationary then the lights come up high and if I jump on and off the tow bar they adjust accordingly. But when I'm driving they just go to their fully dipped no matter what so I can only see about 4m down the road. Anyone know what to try? Testing resistance on the sensors or something? If not can I unplug them when I get them in a good position? Which plug would it be? TIA

Hello all earlier on today I hit a pothole whilst out in my honda accord, it made an almighty bang i slowed down went to change gear and it wouldn't allow me to it will just stay in neutral not allowing me to change gear. I can change gear when the ignition is off no problem, which points to a clutch problem I know. What I'm wondering is has anyone ever known of a pothole impact to actually cause damage to the clutch? I can't go to the garage until Tuesday just trying to diagnose up until then. I've had a look there's no leaks from the slave cylinder but noticed it does squeek alot when clutch pedal is pressed. The car is a Honda accord 2.2 diesel Type S and the clutch wa…
