I need some technical advice Guys, When I switch on the Ignition on the CRV from cold star, The Radiator Fan Starts and goes off after about 5 mins, It then clicks and comes on again and goes off etc, Has anyone else had this problem, I think it is draining the battery when this is happening, Coolant level is fine ,all topped up, I have changed the coolant Sensor and now at a loss, I could go on changing Sensors, i.e, the Radiator Module and the Radiator Switch and Relays but this is just an expensive procedure. Has anyone had this problem or can help in solving it .Its getting frustrating not knowing what might be the cause. Any help would be appreciated Cheer…

Hi all - just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced their battery draining on the Honda CR-V (2018 model)? Ours is only 7 months old and the battery has died completely twice within 10 days. I drive the car every day (maybe a half hour in the am and a half hour in the pm). Breakdown services and the Honda dealer can’t seem to explain why the battery is draining. We never had this issue with our previous model. I’d really appreciate hearing back from anyone who has had a similar issue and how you fixed it. Thanks in advance.

Honda Civic Hatchback 1.6 Diesel 2015 - 117,000 miles Over a year ago the EML came on and the car went into limp home. My garage said the code was showing a P0401. He put fuel cleaner additive in the tank, reset the code, and told me to drive the car at a steady 4000 revs on the dual carriageway. This sorted the problem out for a month or two before the light came back on. He did the same as before and again this sorted the problem out for another month or two. On the third occasion he said that it is probably a sticking EGR valve but at £900 cost he decided to have the car in and clean the EGR. This time we took the car to Northern Ireland and drove about 800 miles…

  8. We are seeing quite a few posts on the subject of Honda economy (or lack of it) Obviously this depends on how the where the car is driven (e.g. extra-urban, around town, etc) and also whether it has a petrol, hybrid or diesel engine, E5 versus E10 petrol, manual or automatic gearbox. Post up your MPG and vehicle details and see if there is a trend occurring or whether it is satisfactory

Good Morning All, just wondering if anyone has had issues using supermarket diesel rather than a brand name such as Esso or Shell. I know the brands claim that their diesel has better cleaning agents and you should get better mpg, but is that the case. Any suggestions

Can anyone help? Honda recently changed the battery in my 67 plate HRV, after they changed it they said all the lights were on and it has a VSA unit fault, which will cost £2000 to replace. There was not a fault before replacing the battery and everything was working fine. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Hi , has anyone experienced this. Whilst driving the car will seem to lose power and the engine management light cones on .this lasts a few seconds before all going back to normal . Also this is not a everyday occurrence, perhaps once a fortnight, The car is used daily.

  19. I've been reading around, and I'm getting a general sense that for some reason the 1.5 is just as economical, if not, more economical at motorway speeds compared to the 1 litre version? However there are oil diultion issues with the 1.5 litre engines isn't there (or does this not affect 2018+ models)? Or is that just a problem with very cold countries? It looks like Honda has stopped the 1.5 litre production for now as I went to their website and the 1.5 litre engine option is now greyed out across all the civic range? Also keen to get one in black so it looks clean (I think it hides the fake vents and stuff).

Hi - dipping toes in here - new UK owner of 1998 Stepwagon (import) with LPG, 125k miles. So now beginning to learn Honda lore - for example, suspension - mine is full of clonks and the handling is soggy. AFAIK mk1 Stepwagon is related to CR-V and Civic of that era, so I wonder if it's therefore also related to Rover 400. Shopping for suspension parts e.g. on ebay, what models to search for and shd I check out Rover as well? With Honda, is it usual to get new wishbones, links etc, or fit new bushes to existing, and does that require presses or separators? Questions like that - all tips gratefully received.

I have a 16 registration Honda Jazz (automatic) but have done only 28,000 miles in it. (I got it less than a year ago with 19,000 miles on the clock from the dealership it had been bought from and serviced by). It now has just 28,000 miles on the clock but today I found that it needed new brake pads and discs on both front and rear brakes and had to pay £691 for this. (Same dealership). I was informed by the dealership / service centre that the 'new' '16 plates Hondas had different brake components and maybe they wear out more quickly. I think that to have to pay loads of money every 3 years (at 10,000 miles a year) is unacceptable. Is this normal or am I just unlu…

  22. Please watch out for a factory defect of the 1.6 I-DTEC 120 HP and 160 HP cylinder head. The manufacturer, despite the knowledge of this defect in 2018, has not done anything since then to call the car for service and check if this defect applies to your car. Only when the user on the website says that the engine is too loud, they will take care of it. Of course, if the car is still under warranty. In the attachment, the beginning of the service bulletin, which lists which cars may be related to this defect. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i49ZwXWoLulv85-xO4-68sCM3p3A75K2/view?usp=drivesdk

The tyre presure label on the door pillar just shows 215-65-16 T some trye outlets mention a diifences rating front and back and some don't !! I understand it's about speed, but I not likely to go over 70 in the old girl, so what do I buy the same all round or T front- and H back. Alan

Good Morning I was referred to The Honda Owners Club by Honda in Swindon. I own a 1995 Honda CRX (reg N753 EKP, engine no. D16Z6-4709549) which has failed its MOT due to high emission levels. I have been told I need a replacement catalytic converter and was given the name of Online Automotive. They have told me they can supply what I need but asked me 2 questions , neither of which I know the answer to as I am not technically minded. …does my car have a lamda sensor? …does it have onboard diagnostics? Can anyone help or offer any advice – I would be most grateful Thank you Dave 07867 663232
